How to fix frozen Asus mouse?

Press and hold down the "Fn" key on the laptop keyboard; on most laptops, it is located between the "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys.

Press the "F9" key once, then release the "Fn" key.

This shortcut disables or enables the touchpad if you ever want to add a wireless or USB mouse

I somehow disabled the mouse icon from moving.

Many laptops have the ability to disable the touchpad by pressing the Function (Fn) key and one of the "F" keys simultaneously. On both my Toshiba and ASUS laptops it's Fn + F9. Look carefully at the F keys - you should see a small symbol that looks like the touchpad.

How to turn on numlk for gateway NE56R31u

You may have hit a certain combination of keys on your Gateway laptop and turned on the NumLock function accidentally. The result is that the rectangle of keys from the 7 key down to the question mark key have become a number-entry keypad. Worse, Gateway manuals don't discuss this function.

Hold down the "Fn" key on the bottom row of the keyboard, and press the "NumLk" key. Type the letters UIO. If they come out as numbers, move on to the next step. Hold down the "Fn" key and press the "F11" key. Type the letters UIO. If they come out as numbers, move on to the next step. Hold down the "Fn" key and press the F11 key and "Scroll Lk" key simultaneously. Type the letters UIO. If they come out as numbers, move on to the next step. Hold down the "Fn" key and press the "F9" key. Type the letters UIO. If they come out as numbers, move on to the next step. Hold down the "Fn" key and press the "Scroll Lk" key. Type the letters UIO. They should come up as letters. If none of these help, then it's probably a keyboard malfunction and you'll need to get it repaired.

My asus k42f fn function keys not working :(

Are you holding down the FN key while selecting the Blue key you wish to open. You have to hold the FN key down at the same time as you press the Blue Key you wish to use in other words. If this does not work you may be looking at either a driver issue for your keyboard or a replacement matter. John

Try holding down your Fn key and pressing F8 (Fn+F8). that should turn on your wireless lan radio. If all goes well you should get a network indicator on your top right panel. If not, try the same with Fn+F9 (although I believe this is the bluetooth radio).

Do you have any applets on your panel (the bar usually located on the top of your screen) Date, envelope icon, speaker etc? If not, right click on the panel (bar) and choose add to panel... scroll down and choose "Notification area". Close.

The network indicator should appear in the notification area just added.

Hope this helps ;)

Hello, i have a ASUS X52F Laptop and the hot key or the Fn key with F9-F12 together to change the volume does not work. If you could tell me a way to fix it or if its a mechanical problem that would be...

Dear Friend,
Have you try another combination of function key?, if it doesn't work it means that the touch pad FN key is missing and can be re-install by going to the Asus download web-page:
and select your model number as well as the operating system.

Good Luck!
