Laptop noise interference

My Advent 7203 has some noise interference- there is a static sound which is there when I'm not playing anything, not using the speakers at all. Even when I mute the sound or disable the speakers the static sound is still there. Also, there is a red light emitting from the headphones port, and I have no idea why. Could anyone help me please? It would be greatly appreciated.

The Device Manager says that I have problems with the Network Adapters 6TO4 and Isatap 404675BF-A373-46CB-851A-167A354E2290. It says it is because Windows can't load the drivers required- Code 31. What do I do now?

I've had this problem on my Amilo laptop for about three years - until today. Loadsa intermittent background noise from the headphone output.
Solution:
double clicked the Loudspeaker icon to bring up the soundcard mixer.
1. muted the cd input. this helped, but still 80% of noise left.
2. clicked on properties, checked the "pc beep" box to add it to the mixer.
muted this channel and - hey presto, amazing silence. i'm in heaven, i can actually listed to music now without deafening "whirr, crackle, crunch, buzz"etc. during every pause.
good luck!!!

Hi,
heres how you resolve your problems.
Go into My Computer/Control Panel/system/Device manager. on the conflicting devices, click to remove or uninstall. then exit device manager. next go to add new hardware wizard, let windows automatically detect your hardware, and install the drivers. if you still have conflicts after this. download the problem drivers, from another source if possible.

Thankyou Mike @ compurepair.

Hi,
This appears to be a problem with the soundcard or device. The mic/headphone/speakers are all usually associated with the sound card. you may have had a virus attack or problems with the items drivers. Check the device has no problems:- My Computer/Control Panel/System/Device Manager ( Yellow Exclamation ) denotes Problem. Alternatively, is to disable the Mic Input Via the sound cards control Panel.

Thankyou for using Fixya.

Static coming from speakers

Not much information here but I will try my best, could be a problem with the cable your using between the speakers and the mp3 player, you could have a dry joint, if it's like a "hum" sound your getting it's a bad ground, without the mp3 playing plugged in tap the end of the stereo minijack cable with the speakers turned up? hear the 50hz buzz - if the interference sounds the same it's most likely a bad cable or bad connector on the speakers. I would need to either hear the interference to determine what fault it is or if you can describe it better i.e. what it sounds like.

Ibm t23 crackling static noise on both the speakers and the head phones i wish to repair myself. almost like interference the sound is constant not just when audio is played.

It sounds like a cracked speaker or no good anymore. You can buy a new set of speakers for it not that hard to change out. Also check the volume level and see if still does the carckling noise when turned down. Thanks for using FixYa! Here is a video on how to do this if this one is not a good one there are many of them at this site Click Here.

How to fix sound problem for advent 7203

First check all your volume settings to make sure you haven't turned the volume down or muted it. Next, if that's not the case, open all programs that use sound. Sounds daft, but I've had that problem and sometimes that helps. If that doesn't work try restarting the laptop. If it still doesn't work it could be that you need to update your drivers or that you have a sound card (hardware) problem. Thanks for using fixya...

Toshobasattelite statice noise audiooutput

you need a ground loop isolator or some way to ground the laptop/power supply to remove the noise. the noise is electrical interference produced by the inverter.

Static noise coming out of speakers

What sort of computer do you have? Is it a laptop or desktop? Many laptops have this problem and it is quite widespread in laptops. The crackling or humming noise could be a result of interference from the mains power signal.

If it's a laptop, try running it on battery alone (take out the mains power cord). My laptop has this kind of noise in speakers when running on mains electrical supply, but it goes away like magic when I run it on battery.

A more long-term solution is to buy a 'Ground Loop Isolator' and insert it between your computer and the speakers/earphones. They are quite cheap and you could get it for under £10. It removes all static noise and you'll hear crystal clear sound.

One of the best sources for these types of things is online at a site called newegg.com. You can search based on the Manufacturer and model number of your Laptop. If that fails you try the Manufacturers website, they will sometimes list where replacements can be purchased or well on themselves.
