Your LCD might have gone bad. A couple things you can try... if you have an external monitor plug it in to the VGA out and see if your system displays on it. If it does you might have accidentally switched your display mode. On toshibas you can cycle through the modes by pressing Fn and one of the F keys. Usually it is F4 or F5 there will be a little picture of a monitor on the F key. Hopefully it is not a bad LCD.

My Toshiba Satellite 1805-S204 turns off when i'm trying to open DVD-ROM bay. Sometimes i can open it but than notebook turns off when i'm closing DVD-ROM bay. I want to disassemble 1805-S204 to find out...

I suspect, if you haven't got it working on the AC adaptor when this happens, that maybe the battery is low power. If it does it when the AC adaptor is being used then I think you are right, the DVD ROM is faulty.
Remove the battery and AC adaptor.
Remove the Memory cover.
There is a singel screw that holds the DVD drive bay in. Remove the screw and pull the drive out.
Replace the drive with and IDENTICAL model and that should be that.
Hope this helps.

Toshiba Satellite iss getting power but won't start up

Try pressing F8 to start it in safe mode. If you get into the operating system, Go to System Restore under the STart-Programs-Accesories-System tools-System Restore. Pick a date before the laptop started this problem, and the wizard will guide you the rest of the way.

try to eject whatever is in the DVD (you will see a tiny hole near the eject button, straighten a paper clip and push it in the hole) then try again

Dvd rom is not running

Dear,

IF you are repair tech, Check whether DVD ROM connections to MOBO are ok. Else, you need to replace the DVD-ROM. Try Searching on Ebay.

My toshiba satellite a135-s2276 won't turn on

A coworker used to work for Toshiba and said that this is common for the Satellite A135 models and under warranty the fix was a motherboard swap for a newer/updated motherboard. Otherwise the unit is unusable.

:-(
