My Laptop Acer Ferrari 3400 was working fine. now i am unable to start it. it was shutdown properly. it doesn't show any disc activity. what i can c is only the power LED blinking orange n green. moreover when i remove the power cable the Battery indicator don't go off. it remain as if the charger is still plugged in. Caps Lock indicator and NumLock indicators are continously on. i can hear sound of Processor fan only n nothing else. what could be the problem???? how can i remove the problem???
Most of the heating problems with laptops are that people forget to air blow the heat sink and the rest of the inside in the computer and, don't know that laptops collect dust which turns into lint in the heat sink and makes it get extremelly hot. This can make you loose your cpu if it occurs often.

I hope this helps. I own an Acer Ferrari 3000 since 2004. It's a great laptop but has a distinct heating problem. Most Ferrari users in warm countries (Persian Gulf, for example) report issues related to over heating. As such, the machine is sensitive to cooling fan irregularities such as clogging by fluff, hair and dust. When my Acer Ferrari 3000 got clogged with dirt - it exhibitted this exact behavior. I could not start it, it hanged, sometimes, before the bios was loaded it sounded a series of alarms, and I could not use it. I took a very simple low tech measure. I took a vacume cleaner, set it on max power, and placed the sucking hose near the vent shaft at the back of the machine to **** out all the dirt. (I recommend you do this when the machine is shut down - so you do not interfere with the cooler operation). Then I repeated this procedure at the shaft at the bottom of the machine. Low and behold - my problems were over.
Take care!!! I enthusiastically vacumed the key board too. This resulted in my 'escape' key being peeled off the key board and sucked down the vacume cleaner hose. I had to dig it out - not a pleasant task, at all.

This could indicate power or motherboard failure, you are wise to e-mail the acer technical dept. http://support.acer-euro.com/request/uk/index.html
