Do you mean it cranks but won't start?
Check for spark at a spark plug wire. If you have spark, it's probably not the ignition, but a fuel issue. Do you hear the pump come on briefly when key is turned to on? You may need to stand by the gas tank with the cap off, while someone turns the key on. The pump should hum or whirr for about 2 seconds to prime the fuel system. Then it will shut off until car is cranked over. If the pump and the ignition is working, check fuel pressure.
If you had no spark, it could be the coil, or crank position sensor, or...well, you would have to diagnose the ignition system.
If the problem is not cranking over, check all connections at starter and battery for a clean tight connection. Check for power at the starter solenoid when key is held in crank position. If power there, the solenoid must be bad. If no power the circuit from ignition switch to the starter solenoid has a problem ( like the starter relay or the neutral safety switch).

Check the battery for bad connections..take off the cables and clean both the battery posts and the cable connectors and then try...if no start, then see if you can check the battery voltage with a voltmeter...at stand still(engine not running) the battery should read 12.5 volts...if battery is ok, then there is the possibility that the starter solenoid, the starter relay, or (in rare cases) the ignition switch is bad

Wont start
Check startermotor.
Possibly brushes are worn down close to end limit so they don't make decent contact on comutator when you try starting. Also the solinoide could be faulty

Starter goes click click and it won't start - seems worse in cold weather(-30c) . . warm weather it starts fine. When this first started happening I was able to get it to run by giving it a boost . . . ....
check the cable to starter for good contact, your starter probably is fine but the starter selonoid is probably bad as long as all power and ground cables are clean and have good contact.

Vehicle won't start, it has clutch interlock, which is only activated in 2wd and 4H , vehicle starts in 4L only, clutch switch??
Take it to the Jeep dealer . It's still under warranty. Won't cost you a penny. Good luck.

06 commander that has full power(all dash lights are on)but just clicks one time when trying to start
Dash lights draw so little that you could nearly run them with a couple of good flashlight batteries...Your starter draws more amps than anything else in the car. Check your battery connections and clean them. check actual battery voltage to make sure you have at min 12v. After making sure you have good power check power at the starter main terminal, starter relay and small wire on the starter (should have 12v when key turned to "start". If you still have a problem after testing post back.
