Fujitsu P1510 wireless card replacement

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to replace the wireless card in a Fujitsu P1510 Lifebook please?

The HDD & RAM are both easy, but I can't even get the cover off....

Thanks.

Some laptops have a modem or wireless card that clip onto the motherboard like how the RAM is fitted to the motherboard. This card is larger than the RAM and may have one or two wires connected to this card. If so you will be able to replace this card.

If the wireless is a chip and is mounted on the motherboard then it would be impossible to replace.
Your only solution to this problem is to buy a PCMCIA wireless card and insert into the laptop's PCMCIA slot or use a USB wireless device. You may have to go into the BIOS and disable the internal wireless device.

FUJITSU LIFEBOOK S6010 - INTERSIL PRISM PCI WIFI CARD - WPA LAN

Seems like you have a pretty old laptop. I'm guessing its got a wireless B card installed internally. And wireless B supports WEP most of the time. And if you're lucky the manufacturer of that wireless card may have an update to patch your card so that it will see WAP. Otherwise you can replace that internal card or get a usb / PCMCIA wireless card that supports at least wireless G standard.
