Player will not eject, play or stop, standby light will not come on

hi,
If there is no standby light then you have to check the power supply of your blue ray player. Its will be an smps power supply. Very carefull while dealing with such power supply beacuse there will be Live areas in the board. You have to check the fuse in the smps. If the fuse is faulty The its sure that the smps driver MOSFET is short. Before replacing the fuse you have to check the MOSFET. If not it will lead to further dameges to your system.
If the fuse is ok and the power supply is perfect then the mother board of your player is faulty. If so then you have to contact the nearest Authorise servicing center to get it repaired.
ok

Rca drc8335 will not completely start up. HELLO on display seems to get stuck and system will do nothing.

If you know how to solder then you can fix this one. Make sure unit is unplugged and then remove cover. After noting their locations, unplug the white connectors and the two AC leads from the Power Supply board. Remove the (5) screws holding the board and remove it. Find the capacitor marked C226 and make note of it's polarity. It is a 16V - 470uf Electrolytic. Carefully remove it. For under $2 at radio shack you can buy a replacement. It will be a 35V - 470uf and may have axial leads (leads out of each end). Note that the arrow points to the negative lead. Bend this down the side of the capacitor and straighten the positive lead and feed the two leads through their proper holes. Solder the leads on the underside, snip off the extra lead length. Re-install the power supply board and re-connect the plugs and the two AC leads White to pin marked White and Black to pin marked Black.
Note that the two short mounting screws go into the tabs from the back of the case. Check your connections one more time.... Replace the cover plug it in and Ta Da.

How to unlocked region code

XD-DV480 Multi-Region: Converting the player to an alternative region:
  • Supply power to the unit and power on from standby mode via the remote
  • Wait until No Disc is indicated on the fascia
  • Now press Pause followed by 3, 4, 2, 2, 9 and then 2
  • The display should now read CODE
  • Now press 0, 0 for region free or 0 then 1 for region one, 2 for region two, and so on (Note: RCE discs will require specific region set)
If the above modification fails to work then the alternative method below may work:-
  • Connect the DVD player
  • Use the Remote Control to turn power on
  • Wait until No Disc appears
  • Press Pause and type the following code, 8, 9, 2, 6, the display will show "CODE__"
  • Within 5 seconds press 00 for all regions
  • Press Pause and Power
This should work for you.
