You have to use the iTunes app on your computer.
When conected you should see the iPOD in the list on the left side. Select it and its contents should populate the main window. Select and delete the items you no long want there.
If you do not back these up to your iTunes library on the pc first they will be lost and gone forrever...

I have an ipod a1236 and in my itunes when i click on device it comes up Audio Photo "OTHER" and free how do i delete items out of mt others list because i think they don't work on my ipod?? help...

The others on your iPod represents the space consumed by the applications and games that you have on your iPod. The only way to delete those is to restore the iPod to factory settings but take note that when you install applications again, it will accumulate and the others will still be there.

In short, it's normal for any iPod to display "others" but if it takes too much space then it's time to do a restore.

Disabled ipod touch cant get in to enjoy my music

to fix this you, unfortunately, will need to erase all the data on the ipod.

plug the ipod into the computer using the included usb cable. open itunes. Hold down the home and power buttons at the same time until it shuts down and reboots. (if it doesn't open automatically) in the column on the left side of the window there is an icon showing your ipod's name. click on it then click on the button that says "restore ipod"

WARNING: this will erase all the content on the ipod (you can put it back on later)

it will ask you to confirm. hit ok and keep your ipod plugged in as it restores it to it original state. pick the language you prefer and then load your music back on the device

Erase video

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist. You may can free some space on your Nano, by removing some videos from the device.

Here’s how:
1. Open Videos.
2. Select Camera Videos.
3. Select a video.
4. Press and hold the Center button.
5. Select Delete, or to remove all the videos, select Delete All.

That should do the job.

most of the memory that is taken up already are files to put your stuff in (movies, music, pics, etc) and the startup files. if you erase the games (which i'm not sure you can) then you will have about 3.7 gb, which is about 10 songs... i've had my ipod for a long time and still havent filled it up with music... and i have a lot of music. trust me, you have plenty of space.
