Question about ASUS G2P Notebook

Open Question

Hi, I have a toshiba sattelit laptop that the screen seems to have a vertical hold issue like the old TV's. It will occassionally go into a normal boot with the screen all good and then the vertical mess starts all over again. Any ideas.

My Toshiba M55 Laptop has a vertical 'ribbon' of flickering. Is it fixable?

Maybe your screen is going bad or the video card inside the computer is going bad. Try connecting another monitor to the computer to isolate the problem. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without the vertical ribbon then your lcd screen is bad and your video card is good. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same vertical ribbon as your lcd screen then your video card inside the computer has an issue.

The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.

Hi

This is not automatic lock but you have turned off the trackpad

Hold the Fn key and press F9 key this will re-activate the mouse and then you can use it.

It is provided to turn off because then you type if your palm touch the trackpad the cursor will move and you may start typing somewhere else.

Hi,
I had same problem with my Sattelite L300. Motherboard has a defect in one Proadlizer film capacitor exactly on the back of CPU, the original ref. is nec-tokin 0E907 (900uF/2.5V) or similar code. I've replaced it by 4 tantalum capacitores of 470uF/2.5V each and 2 capacitores of 220uF/2.5V, all in paralell mode in same old place of nec-tokin component.
Vote for me... :)3_10_2012_6_45_55_pm.jpg

My toshiba sattelite has the fan on,but it won't boot up.

Try unplugging the laptop. Then remove the battery. With the laptop unplugged and the battery removed, hold the power button for 10 seconds. After that replace the battery and plug the laptop back in. Press the power button and the computer should boot if there is no issue with the motherboard.

so it is your display resolution issue.
When you power up press continue F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.
Then go to control panel and dispaly proeprty then change screen resolution to 1024*768.

but if you not see safe mode and other menu then you have to check your ram and motherbord.
Also check your Lcd screen.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

Laptops allow you to set differnt screen brightness settings when on and off AC Power. Try turning the screen brightness up when it's plugged in. Hold the "FN" key, and press F7 repeatedly.

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

Hi,
what i recommend you to test is to press behind your monitor and see that the line goes off or not.If it does..that mean you have a loose connection,it can be fix.Incase no then you have problem with your LCD.Normally if its LCD problem then you fix this problem, all you have to do is change the LCD.
goodluck,takecare.
