Question about JVC AV-60D501 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I have a JVC AV-60-D501 projection tv. At first there was a 1" black line with a little rainbow effect. Then it happened on the bottom too. After that when you would turn on the tv it would be a green screen for a while, but then would go back to the right colors. Then the picture went darker, so I have it all the way to bright. All of a sudden a set of four lines would appear in the middle of the screen. When you would change the channel and change it back it would go away for a while. Then all of a sudden one day the set of four lines became two. Then it bacame more with them moving up the screen. I took off the back of the tv. All three bulbs are on and no blown fuses. What else is it? Please help

What is a convergence board? Where is it located? Is it the big board inside on the bottom of the tv where the fuses are?

This is whats called a convergence failure. You will need to call in a repair shop or goto sites like www.TvRepairKits.com hthat ave the parts to fix this yourself. Its a common failure on projection TV sets.

Your problem is a converge alingment. in most JVC projection TV,s The main problem for to happen is heat eventully breaking down the solder on the converge ICs which destroys them you can still bye them at most electronic parts supply stores .

I have a JVC AV-48WP30, and I had a lot of issues w/ red lines appearing on my screen. If your problem is like mine, then you have to find the video processor, which is a small, squarish metal box on the main board right behind where the a/v plugs are on the back, and jiggle it a little bit, maybe stick a zip tie on there. That always made my lines disappear.

Tv screen waves and is double

No. You have bad convergence output ic;s and probably at least 1 burnt resistor. This liely will have to be reconvergec in the servcie menu after the aprts are changed.
