The PC is probably overheating. Open up the case. Get a can-o-air and spray out as much dust as you can. Or even better if you have a air compressor and a air sprayer attachment use that. Hopefully that fixes your issue, if it doesent it could be more major issues like bad ram or hard drve.

My computer just freezes up and the only thing I can do is restart it. Its been doing this since I bought it 3 years ago. HP can't fix it so I'm stuck with it. Its got the i7 chip with raid 1

Its a good pc and it must perform faster. If its slow then follow these guidelines::
  • Remove unused programs
  • Install and run antispyware software
  • Free up wasted space with Disk Cleanup tool
  • Defragment your hard disk drive

Click Start - Run, type in %temp% and then click OK.
Once that temp folder is open and you can view its contents, select and delete EVERYTHING that's inside it. It's all junk and is a good place for "nasties" to hide.
If you want to speed up pc then use PCFresher.

Hello Mike, hi. I can trace your problem to the freezing up of your PC, which may possibly be caused by a faulty memory module, try replacing the memory with new ones, (well you may need to buy) and swap the old ones. test again to see if the program freezes. = )

Hp s3120n Freezes up wont start

If you are running Vista, it probable is your operating system.
Vista has alot of problems with loosing things like dirves, printers, the mouse and even itself at times.
The best thing to try is a full format and recovery and then after about 4 hours of this then spend another 6 hours getting all the updates for it. Then you can reinstall your stuff.
Or you can upgrade it to Win 7 next month and have a whole new set of problems.

Computer Freezes when connected to internet.

The first step is to verify that you are not infected with a spyware or virus infection. The fact that you are only having freezing problems when you are connected to the internet is a sign that you may have some kind of infection.

The Geek Squad website has links to free online virus and spyware scanners that can tell you if you're infected.

If those scans come up as clean could you please post a Hijackthis log file so we can look at what processes you have running?

Dell Dimension 2400 Freezes frequently

check inside the case of the computer to make sure that the interface cable between the hard drive and the motherboard are fully connected. Also check to see if the RAM modules are fully inserted into their slots. If not, they try removing them one by one, until the computer starts up faster. If this doesn't fix it, then try a new hard drive, and interface cable.
