I have a SP C221SF printer but no software - how can i install it?

The board that controls it. Probably the IOB. Typically, the code is cause by a dirty ID sensor.

Download the appropriate driver for your operating system.Are you sure your driver is compatible with OS....!!!

To install the printer you have to connect it to the PC/ laptop and install the drivers for the operating system you have on your PC. If you have the drivers CD, you can use it to install the drivers. Insert the CD in to the CD ROM Drive and follow the on-screen instructions. If you don't have the disk, you may download the driver from the official Ricoh support site.

From the above link you can download/ install the required drivers . Download all the files listed under the version of the operating system you have on your PC. Run/ Install them one by one. These files include printer drivers, scanner drivers, usb drivers etc.

You need to install a PDF printer driver on your computerfirst. There are quite a few freeware PDF writer programs on the Internet youcan download one such as CutePDF.
From the computer scan your document then click on File - Print and select the PDF writer as theprinter device. Then name and save the PDF file. To download Cutepdf PDF printer driver (freeware) click onthis link :- http://www.cutepdf.com/

SC 400 is a dirty toner mark sensor. Clean with alcohol, wiping with dry cloth causes static on sensor and attracts toner.

I had the same error. In my case one of the two springs in the paper tray was missing (on the floor behind the printer) so there wasn't enough force to push the paper up to the pickup roller. After I installed the spring the error cleared and printing resumed.

Click here and download the appropriate drivers. Make sure you save them as something meaningful and in a location that you will remember. You will probably have to unzip these files as well. Once you do that you should be able to add the device via the "add printer" & wizard. Let me know if you need any help.
