Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Sennheiser pmx 100 cable or plug broken

1 month ago I bought myself this new Sennheiser earphones. Since 2 weeks I have now a loose contact. Not Sure if the Problem cause the Cable is might broken very close to the plug or if its the plug itself.

Unfortunatly I lost the warrantie so I cant get it changed and the guy from the electrik shop close to my home told me that its irreperable cause the cable is too special. He gave me a new Plug so I could try it by my own if I want to but Im not sure if its such a good idea.
What do you think.

By the way: theres no Problem with the Sockets of my Audiodevices. Checked that allready

Im really thanfull for any help I can get.

SOURCE: Sennheiser HD600s - Loss of sound in left pan

I've discovered the solution to the problem, I think. What has probably happened is that while wearing the head phone you have probably caught the cable any number of times on door knobs, under your heal, or perhaps around the feet of a passing dog. The cable is very long and very strong — it's Kevlar reinforced.

All this jostling has tended to bend the pins and probably the sockets they plug into. Using a delicate pair of jewelers pliers, preferably smooth-jawed, gently bend the pins outward (maybe even inward) so that they once again make a firm contact in their sockets. It's worked for me pretty well so far.

The fact that some people get no improvement from cable replacement suggests that the problem is with the internal cable sockets. The solution is still the same. I notice after doing a tweek that the plugs feel tight again.

SOURCE: Sennheiser RS120 with noise...

Couple of things could be going on..

Try the obvious first

1. Select a different channel on the base unit: Located on the front, under the logo is a small switch. Note the position and try the other two settings
2. Make sure your base unit is not next to other items that may interfere with it.. cordless phones and wireless network routers etc.. microwaves or other RF sources .. fluorescent lamps.. etc

Lastly.. just about all wireless headphones have some noise or background hiss.. but it should be minor.. if the rechargeable batteries are not taking a full charge or cannot retain the charge properly.. the reception will also weaken.. and that noise will increase.. and the reception distance will decrease.

You can buy a new set of rechargeable batteries .. just make sure they are exactly like those in your headphones..

If I remember right.. they are Nickel Metal Hydride… (NiMH).. Radio Shack will have them.. or a store like Batteries Plus.. If you replace them.. go for a slightly beefier battery.. a higher mA-h.. may take a bit longer to charge initially.. (If you try this.. remember.. they will need to charge overnight before use) but will “play” longer in use.

It has been noted that many of these headphones shipped with inferior batteries.. that problems seems to have been addressed by the mfg.

Good Luck!

THANKYOU SO MUCH! just fixed my 11 year old cans with the help of this page! :D

pry the white cap from the black from the narrow bottom end (end where the cable attaches) and it pops off.

I'd lost my left ear (again!) turns out it's just a loose connector. fixed in 5 mins

No, finding spares for Headphones is difficult since they are all different, it's not the same as cabinets or speakers. You are better off buying a new pair and keeping your old ones as a spare.

Sennheiser md 42 microphone not being picked up on camcorder help please.

This would require a special cable to work. The mic is MONOAURAL with BALANCED output and the camera is STEREO input. This means a special cable is needed and you would probably have to make it yourself as I haven't seen one on the market.Pin 2 of the XLR of the mic would go to BOTH the tip and ring of the plug into the camera. Both pins 1 and 3 of the XLR at the mic would tie to the sleeve of the plug to the camera. If you tried an XLR to 1/8 adapter, no audio would be heard other than from the buillt in mic.

I have Seinheiser HD 202 headphones that my dad bought me for Christmas about a year ago. About a few months ago the left earphone stopped working. I have tried messing with the jack but that didn't seem...

The fault is in the cable: you will have to dismantle the left speaker housing and start cutting from the cable until the break is removed then solder it back to the speaker - use an multimeter to check the continuity of the wires.

Try contacting them here:http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/home_en.nsf/root/service_contact-consumer Have a look at the bottom end of the microphone where the cable connects. What are the four holes for? I don't have one to look at but I do remember working on one about 20 years ago. Also I seem to remember that the side rails slid back. I hope this helps.
