Question about Stanley 100 ft. Tape Measure, FatMax

1 Answer

I have a bostich model S32SX staple gun that misfires

When you first hook it up to the compressor it will fire properly for the first 20 to 30 times, after that the trigger appears to have no pressure on it.

Hi, Its sound like your compressor is not turned on. Make sure your compressor is plug in, and the (on and off) switch is turned on. Check the pressure gage to see what psi you have. You need at lease 90psi. If you don't have that much pressure, There should be an adjusting knob below the gage. Turn the knob until you get the proper psi.

If this doesn’t work for you, please write back. Thanks,

check intake valves for proper seating. If the valves do not close completely it will allow the engine to backfire thru the carb. Another possibility is internal timing caused by the misalignment of the timing gears between the crankshaft and cam gears.

2 things to check
1. when was the last time you oiled the gun, without proper lubricant, the driver will not return properly and that will impede fastener feed

2. have you cleaned the nose of the gun? try spraying it with WD40 or some other spay lube after using a spray cleaner, such as B12 carb cleaner or brake cleaner

I have a shell stuck in the gun and can't get it out!

if it is exploded run a rod through the gun when you break it apart. if it is unexploded be careful - it's probably a rim fire cartridge. use plenty of penetrating oil.

What is the proper way connect and operate a pneumatic nailer?

the first thing about the nailers is they are very DANGEROUS if not used need to look at the gun and look for manufactors reccommended air preassure turn your air compressor regulater to that pressure, you are now ready to plug your air lines in to the compressor to your gun (DO NOT POINT THE GUN AT ANYONE,IT COULD MISS FIRE).

Powder actuated tool wont fire. I think the firing pin is stuck

is this the one you hit with a hammer? if so check to see if the firing pin is hitting the shell rim at all, if it is sometimes you just have to hit it harder, and make sure your holding the shell in position with down pressure on the handle. if it is the gun model then make sure that the safety lever is is reaching the trip mechanism when you are holding it down making ready to fire.

Nail Gun Problem

Professional-grade varieties are automatic, and fire a nail directly upon pulling the trigger. A semi-automatic nail gun is more appropriate for beginners, since it requires a two step process: pull the trigger and then tap the barrel against the wood. This safety feature protects the user from accidentally firing a nail gun and injuring himself or others.
