The hard drive bay should be a small section on the underside front left side, held in by two screws and one hard drive securing screw.

I have to change my charger jack of my travelmate 5720, but i cant open the back panel at bottom of screen, even all screws were removed. pls help soon.

THE BACK HAS SCREWS AS WELL AS SELF NOTCH ALL AROUND THE SIDES. ITS A BIT TRICKY AND DELICATE AS WELL. YOU HAVE TO INSERT A SMALL SCREW DRIVER IN BETWEEN THE PANEL TO OPEN THE BOTTOM .IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF IT ITS BETTER LEFT TO A PRO. TO AVOID DAMAGE.

REGARDS.
PLZ RATE MY SUGGESTION.

Acer 507DX Travelmate, need to remove cover/case to install new HD, apart from the dozen or so screws in the bottom, what else holds it?

The hard drive is usually located under a recess plate on the base of the laptop.
If you locate the battery on the underside, the hard drive cover is next to it and is held on with just two screws.
Hope this helps.

How do I fit a replacement keyboard for my acer travelmate 4150

You need to remove the middle cover of the laptop and unscrew a few screw at the lower case. Try the find the logo keyboard at the lower case. I think just this model got screw to remove first to take it out.

I need to open my Acer laptop case to solder to power switch

Hi there,
this may not be your exact model, but should give you a good general idea on how to get inside. The key is prying up the top strip, that seems like it is going to break. Use something plastic or wood if possible. A screwdriver will leave marks.

Suspect dvd drive ribbon cable disconnected from Acer 9410 laptop

I guess it depends on the type of drive your laptop came with. Some laptops have a switch on the bottom of the laptop that lets you release and remove the DVD drive. Others have a small screw that has to be removed to pull out the drive. Yet others need the case completely taken apart. Guess it depends on your model...

MEMORY UPGRADE ON ACER TRAVELMATE 5720G

Acer's support isn't the best. IMHO But go to their support site anyway and look up your laptops manual (there should be instructions on upgrading your RAM there). I did find that your machine will accept up to 4GB of RAM 2 X 2GB sticks. There should be a door or port (for easy user RAM upgrading) that is being overlooked, but again it is an Acer.
Good luck.

Replacing DVD drive on Acer Travelmate 2428

There are two screws that hold the CD/DVD drive in place on a laptop. I'm not familiar with your particular model but these screws are sometimes located on the bottom of the case and marked as such, others have them located under the keyboard. If you don't see them on the case bottom, look in your owners manual and see if it describes how to lift the keyboard. I don't recommend you try removing the keyboard without some clear instructions to follow as its real easy to break something on a laptop if you don't know what your doing. No picture and no sound

no picture and no sound means that either the operating system is not installed, the motherboard or hard disc drive is faulty, hard to say where to start as you don't know the last thing that happened to it to start the diagnosis. If you don't own a hdd usb2 to 3.5" ide cable to firstly check the hard drive, you will need to take to a repairer and illiminate as you go along.
