My daughter spilled water on Sony portable DVD player, now it won't turn on

No! when water enters it will rapidly corrode the ic pins and other critical parts, best to replace the player.

I have a durabrand portable dvd player and I can not get the battery to recharge. I have unplugged it from the DC in jack and the cord from the wall. Reinserted the battery, then inserted the AC adaptor...

If your portable DVD player work with the AC power adapter in the wall outlet.100% the litium battery doesn't take any more holding charges. The litium battery should last u about 2 years with minium usages 2-3 hours a day.But that the DVD player and the litium battery must keep in very well conditon and wheather wise. Not in the heat or cold and the humitnity well shorten the lituim battey life very quickly and also could damages the portable DVD player too dosen't matter how much u used it.Tries webites like Amazon.com,Partstore.com,Ebay.com to buy a new litium battery or a compatible one.

I have mintek portable dvd player Model mdv 1030. I charged it one night with the player turned on and now it won't work at all. Is there any way to fix this problem or have I ruined the player?

check the power adoptor see if the wire is not broken..you can do this by pluging it into a wall outlet and place the meter positive and negative test wire onto it if you get your 110 volts that means your dvd is damage and have a problem in the power supply..i must say if you are not a tech have a tech look at it or buy a new dvd player.

Portable dvd player will not play off outlet or car charger

There must be something wrong with the amount of power the power supply is providing. I would try and purchase another power supply, and see if it still happens. Another thing it could be is the port where you plug in the power cord, is the port loose or can you move it? If this is the case, it might not be receiving clean power.

How do I charge battery

Simply hook the battery up to the player, plug in the adapter (house AC outlet, car adapter will not recharge batter), and turn the unit off.

The charging light should come on and when it goes out it's fully charged.

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
