I have the same issue. You need to take both dials off, then on the bottom, there are 4 tabs on the inside. Seperate the halves and you will see them. Towards the front and halfway back. Pry the halves apart enough to push the top towards the bottom and it slides apart pretty easy. The tricky part now is finding the replacement part. I have super glued my switch and I want to do something to try and repair it further. Maybe epoxy. I called Krups and they can't sell the part to me. I called one of their service centers and they can't sell the part to me. So, if someone knows where to get the part, I am all ears :)

I had the same problem. I made a replacement part out of an old credit card. Here is a template of the shape to make.

This is the THIRD Krups GVX2 coffee grinder I have owned in the last three years! They have all stopped grinding!! The blue power light goes on, but NOTHING HAPPENS! I\'ve tried cleaning it, changing the grind settings, making sure everything is engaged properly. ! I HATE waking up & having to grind my beans in the blender! Not fine enough for Melitta coffee filter.

Depending on the coffee machine you have, it most likely is the filter inside the water tank. Remove the filter and clean or replace it. It may be clogged up. Make sure to unplug the power cord during this process. If that doesn't fix it, check all orifices on it for clogs. Plug it back in and let it do its thing. Good luck and hope this helps!

How to fix, "no bean light" stays on?

hi there,
have you also cleaned the output of the grinder and the doser?
You have to open it (carefully) by hand, as it is normally closed and only opens when the actuator is switched on, and clean the inside with a soft brush.

After cleaning the grinder, its outlet and the doser, the machine will have to gring at least twice ti fill-in these parts, each time saying that there are no beans. It should be OK with the 2nd our 3rd cycle of grinding.

Hope that helps,
M.

My grinder does not grind anymore. The machine sounds normal but the beans shoot out basically "cracked" into chunks. I have cleaned the entire unit and even bought new beans. But no luck.....

im only guessing here but id assume that the space between the burrs is likely controlled with a spring or something which has probably broken leaving the burrs as far apart as possible, if you gut the machine you may just be able to fix it with no parts if its simply a spring thats come off, the only other possibility i can think of is that your burrs or whatever they connect to are broken somehow, but all these are only guesses as im not familiar with your machine, my motto is if its broken you may as well pull its guts out to see if you can fix it, youve nothing to lose and youd be surprised how often it works

The tip on one side of the grinder blade has broken off...the machine runs well and has not had a lot of use. Can the blade be replaced; if so, how, and how much? SmartGrind CBG5.

I have two different coffee grinders and if it is just the tip of one side of the blades you can continue using it, if there is a large portion that is broken I'm not sure of that model. Hint: check to see if the part is still in the grinder set the grinder for the most coarse grind, don't turn it on, shake it upside down to see if the broken potion is still in the grinder. If you find nothing use the grinder unless the performance is less than you like.

Have Rancilio Rocky for about 3 months. Noticed grinds around base from time to time. Yesterday picked up machine, saw accumulation. Tapped base, more came out. Took off base, about 2 oz. of grinds inside....

Hi There could be a piece broken around the chute where it comes out of the grinder and enters the grounds chamber. There is a rectangular opening in the plastic that can get broken causing the grounds to enter the machine.

I've had a Krups Burr Coffee Grinder for a couple of weeks, and began to have trouble turning it on the second time I used it. I think the problem relates to the lid not positioning correctly or not being...

The tops of those grinders are made of hard plastic. Check the bottom of the lid for any broken or cracked pieces that could prevent it from engaging the grinder motor. If none are present, it's possible there are grounds stuck inside preventing the motor from turning on. Turn the unit upside down and shake it. You can also use a can of compressed air to blow out the hub. If this doesn't work, you may have a defective machine and you should return it to the store for replacement. Coffee grinder not working

My burr grinder also stops if the ground spout (where the coffee shoots out) is clogged. I use my grinder for an espresso machine so i always have the setting on the finest and so with the oils and the fine grind it clogs this spout pretty often. I"d check yours out too (ie remove the coffee ground bin and you can see the spout. If it is clogged uplug the machine and take a tooth pick and un clogg it. Don't jam the tooth pick in there to deep you don't want it to get shuved into the grinder wheels.

The top of the unit that covers the coffee beans has a plastic point that must depress a button on the main body of the unit when it closes to show the unit that the lid is closed properly. If this is broken (as was mine) I inserted the end of a piece of tooth pick replacing the plastic point in the lid and this now depresses the recessed button on the main unit. The beeper goes off and the on light comes on.
