The wires and fuses are OK. The faceplate is not making a strong connection, I can only get power when I apply pressure to the front of the faceplate, it immediately powers off when I remove pressure. What should I do.

The ribbon cable has gone bad. A new one can be ordered direct from pioneer at parts.pioneerelectronics.com Good luck!
SOURCE: Faceplate won't open
Had the same problem twice already.
Took it in for service and they charged me 125.00 (USD) to replace the ribbon cable on the inside.
I saved the $$$ and did it myself the second time.
The cable is located here on the Pioneer Website. It comes with instructions and no special tools are needed.

Same thing happened to me twice.
Its the crappy ribbon cable that connects the faceplate to the head unit.
Its only about $12 (USD) from Pioneer directly.
