SOURCE: car radio code for 2001

Hi,

To my knowledge, there are only three (3) possible sources for the car radio code:

  • printed on the user's manual of the vehicle. In some cases, on the radio manual;
  • leftover assembly tech markings such as on a piece of maskin tape under the ashtray, in the glove compartment, under the dash, in the fuse holder cover, center console;
  • the original dealer of the vehicle. They normally would require VIN and proof of purchase.
Hope that this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: radio says code after cleaning battery cable and reattaching the battery cables to battery is there some kinda master code to rest it?

Yes and no. You will have to call the dealer and tell them you vin. If its the OEM radio they will be able to give you the code for it by matching the vin and serial number from the radio. Hope this helps.

Cannot locate user manual. Car is a 2001 Lancer GLi and is requesting 4 digit code for clarion cd/radio player.

If the radio is stock you will need to call the mitsubishi dealer to get the code it is an antitheft device that renders the radio useless if power is lost, such as removing the radio.

I accidentally deleted the code on my car radio. This is a used car and I never had the code in the first plac. This is a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage. 'How do reset the code". The radio will not work

The manufacture's owner manual should have the code in it. With the engine off place the key in the on position, leave it on for one hour. Turn on radio with screen off. you'll see re-enter code. If no code need to take to dealership.

Lost radio code for mitsubishi galant

Well your in for some hurt if you don't have the code in your owners manual. otherwise you'll need to remove the radio and get the serial# off of it, then contact a mitsubishi auto dealer and either pray the parts guy will do it without charging you or the dealer will usually hit you with the minimum charge I'm seeing $86 as the going rate on the net. My local Mitsubishi dealer **** Norris Mitsubishi in the tampabay area will do it for free for there customers according to there parts department but they stated they would not provide the information over the phone for others out of the area. The code apparently varies by serial# so its not one code for all.
