I just bought the diswasher a week ago. I had not used it yet, and yesterday I loaded it, and read the operation manual to start to wash. It will start to get water, and then it will stop, and the dishwasher will turn off turn off.

Re: dishwasher will turn off

Mami, first see if you can put it through a test cycle by pressing the heated dry button six times and then press start. 88 will display. This will test all the funtions of the dishwasher. Let it do it's thing for approx. 20 minutes. Wash motor should run. If it doesn't call for warranty service so you don't void it. It's possible something got messed up during installation. back.

Low water level

I have a Samsung DMT400RHS and I started getting the low water level error ('Normal'+Heavy'+Smart Auto' LED blinking). The error started intermittently a few weeks ago, but the the last day or two the problem was solid, and simply restarting the cycle no longer worked.
I looked of the code in the dishwasher user guide and it said 'low water level.' Searched the internet and located the repair manual at for $15. The manual was well worth the $15.
The manual suggested: 1) loose level sensor connector 2) Faulty Assy case sensor or stuck floater aka 'remove foreign matter' 3) Bad Main PBA assy.
Since we do 10+ loads a week for the last 18 months the stuck floater seemed to be the most likely cause.
Go to Samsung DMT400RHS Low Water Level Error ('Normal'+Heavy'+Smart Auto' LED) (new link is click the i on each picture to see the caption - DM 04/17/2016) to see the pictures and read the captions documenting what I did. Do this at your own risk. You must turn off and disconnect the electric power and turn off the water supply before you begin.

Sishwasher not used for months. Now motor only

Disassembled dishwasher. Some plastic scraps had shredded and wound itself around the pump impeller axis. It was preventing the motor from turning. Upon removal diswasher again worked fine.

Whirlpool dishwasher du945PWPQ0 won't run, no led lights

If you have used a meter to check that the power circuit is live clear to the connection under the dishwasher then:
It is ~possible~ that (even though it is hard wired) a tripped GFI outlet in the kitchen has tripped and opened the circuit that this diswasher is connected to. Locate all GFI outlets in the house and reset them.
Seperate from that, you have a failed diswasher on your hands. If you have an extended waranty, well done. Otherwise, you need to decide between repair and replacement.

This dishwasher being only seven weeks old I suggest you contact the store where you bought this unit and tell them to book a service call and send a technition out to solve this, the reason I am suggesting this is that the unit is under guarentee and if you try to repair it will void any guarentee or warrentee that is on the machine. If you do work on it and something big and expensive goes wrong the store(manufacturer) will not honor there guarentee when they see that you worked on it so better to be safe than sorry. If you do not come right with them let me know and we can see what we can do from there.

I purchased a diswasher (Hotpoint)about 1-1.5 years ago. It's model # is HDA3400G02CC and its SS# is TH887451Y. I don't think I registered it. No Matter, Two days ago, my garbage disposal stopped...

I purchased your service (telephone support) and the dishwasher expert contacted me. We discussed the issue, he made recommendations. I followed his advise and solved the problem. Before I could recontact him, he called to follow up on my progress. His advise was straight forward and correct and today my wife is happy to have her dishwasher working again.

Thank you,

Check the float switch. If it is stuck the machine will start but no water will be allowed in and the pump will turn on to drain the non existant water. This happens often when a small item gets under the float preventing it from allowing the water valve to open. Find the float in the bottom of your machine and make sure it moves freely.
