At boot up it stays at loading os image. How do I get this resolved or go back to factory settings in hopes that will fix it.
Try running the Check Disk Utility.
To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.
If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.
In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.
In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.
SOURCE: Product: Sylvania Netbook (SyNet7WID).
Hello, from what I understand, the netbook doesn't use an Intel-standard processor, so only code specifically for that chip will run, ie, no downloadable plug-ins,java, flash etc. CE itself is based on windows 98. I found a site giving useful overviews on these netbooks, I think they're worth visiting:

just don't try to view it on your netbook!

SOURCE: Can you add memory to a sylvania netbook synet7wid
Fixed memory such as a laptop or desktop allows is not possible on the SYNET07526. what you see is what you got. However, it can see a USB drive or memory stick through your USB ports, which can be used as a repository for downloaded items and Email. It will not access a program or such from that USB.

Try to open the websites using Firefox. If you are already using firefox, try to reset it to default settings and try to open the websites again. If you don't want to use firefox, try to reset whichever browser you are using to default settings and try again.
You may also try clearing cache.

Gotta go a little further... Try this:
Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" read and follow directions.
On item # 4, you will find your "Hot Spot" name. Click and Connect there.
For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet in order to get your "network keys" fill that in and then click "OK".
Be sure your Wi-Fi is turned on... Look for the "WiFi Power" icon on the left side of the main screen... Click it... "Turn Off" means it is ON. "Turn On" means it is OFF... You'll see how that works.
Now Then On The Machine itself:
Next be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".
I selected "default" and was off and running.
Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are onboard. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people are way under-rating this fun little machine! -DKA-

Hi
is it telling you what device driver it is trying to load
When you turn it on, as soon as the very first screen appears press F11.
Than it should take you straight to factory restore settings. P.S.
This will delete everything it so safe your stuff in Hard drives or flash drives.
hope this helps

Please provide the exact nomenclature, e.g., name model series, operating system, etc. and I believe that I can assist you. Some of the earlier models used Linux for an operating system.
