Question about Bosch Classixx WFL 2066 Front Load Washer
I contacted Bosch customer service(oxy-moron)
They told me to clean, then wipe after each load of laundry; then leave the door open.....I have washer & dryer behind bi-fold doors in a hall, so leaving the door open is not a great "option" .
I pressed for a replacement of the seal as customer service was about to hang up on my call; this was denied. "Industry-wide problem, not a Bosch problem" was the mantra. (Why no recall? ) No recall, OK----then no new purchases of Bosch products should be our mantra.
Next comment: I am out of warranty, of course. Jan/06 was installation date, now 11/25/06. No matter it takes a while for mold to grow; we have been smelling this for 6-8 months on our towels......we thought it was in the "lines" because we couldn't see it. It takes the mold longer to grow than the duration of the warranty! (1 year) I was then offered 25% discount off door seal/boot gasket #667-489, which is $46.50 - 25% discount = 34.87 Installation is my problem. Remember what this washer cost? Yeah, now I'm not worth $12 !!! WOW. You will get arrogance and dismissiveness when you call.....(and I was insistant, but not rude.) Customer service is well-trained to get rid of these calls.
I want to make it clear.......I have always liked my washer and dryer, and dishwasher, too. I want Bosch to replace it for free, because they should. They have a quality problem.....they should fix it.

Fit new door seal.
Do a hot wash at least once a week with powder in, but no clothes in, called a maintenance wash.
make sure you wash clothes at the right temp, not too many cool washes, use the right amount of powder..
Dry and clean the door seal after each wash
