Question about Kenmore 63942 Dryer

1 Answer

Kenmore Dryer does not heat.

Kenmore dryer (model #66902), does not heat. Powers on, drum spins, but no heat. I have a list of things that it may (or may not be) but I can not get into the unit. Where are the fuses? Heating element?

My Kenmore 90 Plus Series Dryer doesn't heat. It spins as usual when it is set to COTTON, but no heat comes out after power is on for a long time. Is it possible that the fuse is broken?

When i start the dryer the heater heats up but after awhile (15mins) it stops. As i restart the dryer the heater no longer heats up but it runs on cold air throughout the auto timing cycle. When the cycle is finished its stop by itself. After 3 hours i put the dryer to automatic again and i start it then the heater heats up after awhile (15mins). It continues to repeatedly do the same thing. I don't know what's wrong with the dryer, please help me?

Dryer does not heat correctly code F31

The thermostat which is a round 2 wire control on the blower box on the back of the dryer controls the heat on all dryers. always shut off power when checking any electrical appliance. Clothes dryers are wired with 2 voltages, The 240 volt supply is for the heating element only, while the 120 volt supply gives power to the timer and motor that spins the drum and powers any lights and switches. If the heating element is coming on, try replacing the thermostat. As always unplug the dryer first.

Kenmore dryer noise

It will be either a worn bearing or belt tensioner, the only way to diagnose further is to dismantle the dryer and check each bearing individually.

Dryer wont spin

Take the back off  of the drier after unplugging and the beklt goes from the motor pully all the way around outside of the the drum. You can't miss it. Most of the Kenmore drier belts are the same. WE have apliance repair parts stores locally. If you also do , go to the store with the old belt and match it up.

Dryer won't spin on my kenmore stacked model 417.90812991

This is the 2nd time I have this problem.
IF you look thry the drum to the back you should see 3 screw heads. Mine has one screw still in the hole and 2 empty holes.
This requires the drum to be removed (like take the drier apart). Behind the drum is Asmbly-shaft (ball hitch) (item 32 in the parts list). This what the 3 screws screw into.
I spent 2 days trying to put the screws in without removing the drum not possible (no way to hold the drum in place)
The first time I had to replace the drum because it wore the rim through.
I have to get 3 new screws and some thread locker.
I recommend that you check the screws every month, Use a long phillips screw drive
