Remove the battery and the memory card, then restart the camera without putting the card inside, and with a battery that you know is charged.

If it happens again, it could be the battery that is faulty and is not keeping charge, try testing the battery at a repair shop and eventually replace it.

I don't think that this problem is related to the SD card and files in any way, test a different card just in case.

Battery could be but just be sure, use an ac adapter first, if the problem continues it's the internal electronics which handles power that is failing and of course needs service.

Nikon D60 "Press shutter release button again". Camera "stuck" and not working.

Remove the battery and let the camera sit for a few minutes. Reinsert the battery and turn the camera on. If the error persists, then consult with a Nikon-authorized service representative.

My Nikon D60 monitor is dark...no image preview, however, playback for viewing pictures taken works fine. I use the viewfinder for taking pictures, but wonder if I've done something to turn off the monitor...

No, you have done nothing wrong. The D60 does not have the preview function on the monitor like the compact digital cameras. Nikon gave that function a name. It is called 'Live View'. The newr models like the D90 do have that feature. You can read further about your D60 here: www.digitalcamera-hq.com

Nikon d60 does not allow me to view image whilst taking a picture

The D60 does not have a Live View capability. The monitor is used for shooting info, menus, and image reviews. It cannot be used to display the image while shooting. You must use the viewfinder for that, unless you connect the camera to a computer using the Camera Control Pro software from Nikon.

Nikon d60 - error. turn camera off and on again.

Locate the button behind the shutter release button with the green dot next to it. Locate the button at the back lower hand side of the D60 with the green dot next to it. Press both buttons at the same time.........This resets the D60 to its original settings and should resolve the problem.....

Sreen on back of camera doesn't show anything. We have to use view finder to aim camera. Any suggestions

You can't use the screen for framing/composition, the D60 does not have Live View.
Only D90 and D300 have it

Flash on Nikon D60 does not work

Hello. When i first bought a D60, it was working perfectly outdoors at day and would work without a hitch with external flash. However, the internal flash would never get released. No menu option would be of any use, only symptoms were flashing 'flash' and 'question mark' symbols in the finder. NIKON service fixed it - There was nothing wrong with the camera electronics. The little flash release mechanism somehow acted up and NIKON staff fixed it in +- 5 minutes. I do hope you have yours in full working condition by now.
