HP C4180 printer

I have a C4180 and when I tried to copy a 4x6 photo on to photo paper by using the information guide, it appeared as though the phot was being scaned but when I hit print the paper went through the machine as though it was printing but cam out blank.
I tried the process with regular paper and the phot printed. The phot is black and white.

Do you have the paper type selected in the printer settings on the computer? You need to change it to the glossy printer paper for it to print on it rather than the standard paper that you normally use.

Hp c6180 won't print from 4x6 photo paper tray

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray. I hope this helps.

I use HP Premium Photo paper, 4x6 with tab. Also, there is Photo ink cartridges available for this printer.

Also, use the HP Photosmart Essentials program to print the photos.

Update drives from Hewlet Packard web site Run the installation C/D which will create a shortcut on your Desk Top antomatically for HP Solutions and one for Photo Essentials( N.B ensure you have the latest Photo Essentials 3.5 )
Then
Click on Start
Select Pictures from menue
Select the photo you want to print
Click on Print
This frame will allow you to select the type of paper and size of print etc.that you want When you have done this Exit out
From your shortcut
Select Photo Essentials (3.5)
Import that photo from your Computer to Photo Essentials by clicking on the appropriate symbol
Then select Print ( at bottom of that screen) Finally select Single Print
And Enjoy
Good Luck

When I print pictures on the 3210 HP all-in-one, they come out very small even though I choose the 4X6 in paper size for the photo tray. I've tried everything I can, but the pictures keep printing wallet...

First thing that comes to mind is that a 4x6" print could print four wallet sized photos; be shure your are not printing more than one copy.

If you are trying to print more than one,it will print the actual picure you have and leave space for the number of other nonexistent prints selected.

See page 75 of the Manual. for directions on how to set up photo printing.

If you have photoshop, you can resize your documents using the menu item, Image / Image size, (Alt + i then i again)

Set the resolution to 300, then the document size width to 6 or 10 inches.

This will guarantee that your document is full size, (though the printer should be able to resize it to fit on the page no matter what).

Give these a try. It's really a shot in the dark, but it's my best guess.

Cheers.
Richard.

Want to print 4x6photos on 4x6 paper on my hp deskjet 5440.

using the paper tray/feeder. Just slide your paper guide over until it's snug, not tight. photo paper should be inserted vertically not horizontally. Set your printer settings to photo quality & photo paper. Hope this helps.

Printing Photos on Photo Paper

Ensure u are placing the paper in the photo tray..
if u r printing from the memory card which is inserted in the printer..ensure that the PHOTO BUTTON on the printer is on..
You can also try to reset the printer by going to the SETTINGS/TOOLS menu (RENCH SYMBOL) and then look for the Factory Restore (Might be under "Preferences")
