The unit may need cleaning. The lamp will shut off if the air flow is blocked by dust.

How do you hook the lcd projector to a portable dvd player?

The Dell 1100MP has SVideo and RCA input connections you can use, it all really depends on the type of video out connection that your portable DVD player has.

Dell 1100MP turns off randomly. Replaced bulb but same fault ocurrs? Will stay on for 20mins then turn off, re-boot will stay on for 3 hours then turn off. Now has just turned itself off 3 times in 30mins?...

Sounds like a broken fan. There is two fans fitted, if one stops working the it activates a thermal cut out. I purchased a fan from ebay for £5.00 incl postage size is 70x70x20.

The movie freezes

if the bottom of the dvd is scratched it can cause this issue, if it's not scratched there may be a defect in the way the dvd was written. If you are playing from a file on your computer that has been downloaded, it may be partially corrupt, or the player has old codecs. Try using a different player like VLC on your computer, or use a CD/DVD cleaning kit, and a DVD player cleaning disc.

Projector works fine, but does not show video

Hey. Sounds like you are using some kind of dual-view or extended desktop via the computer for video. This may sometimes be a problem. If you can see the desktop but no video using the projector it is not a projector problem. It is probably your grapic card och software problem.

Try different setups in the graphic cards settings, like the projector as primary monitor etc. That usually solves the problem.

Can see frame but cannot see movie

Is it a downloaded movie? You possibly do not have the right codec to view it. Download VLC media player. It is free open-source software that can play practically any video format.

Playing dvds through projector

I'm guessing your trying to play the DVD on a PC or laptop, in which case if you change the display settings so the video is only output through the projector and not on the PC/laptop screen the video will then play back properly.
