Cant locate the gpu to reflow on motherboard 403894-001 on hp dv 4000. does anyone have a layout for the board or know where it is.

This is a sign of a bad video display adapter. Depending on your laptop model, if this adapter is integrated int the motherboard, you will have to replace the motherboard. However, if it is a daughter board that fits into a slot on the motherboard, you will only have to replace this daughter board.

I have a hp pavilion dv4000 laptop but dont have restore disk


The hard disk has died, replace it and reinstall windows using someone's else disk and your key.

You have major problems. You should take it to a repair shop as it sounds like your motherboard is fried.

Bios locked and not get full display


you can reset the bios by taking out the battery on the motherboard (looks like a watch battery) leave it out for a few minutes then replace it again.

Have you tried changing the display.
Right click the desktop, go to properties or personalize if using vista, and check that the display properties is set correctly for your graphics card. Change the size of the display from in here.

u need to install your lapotop driver when install driver then sound come so install your motherboard driver cd in your lapotop

if u not have driver cd tell me your laptop model no so i can give u link to downlod driver

Need new motherboard for my dv4000


you could call hp spare parts and get a quote on a board from them offen hp prices are about 50 to 90 dollars cheaper depending on the board . then take it to the place and have it install for the $90
