KitchenAid KUDP02 built-in dishwasher will not fill with water

I have a KitchenAid KUDP02 built-in dishwasher that will not fill with water. I checked the overfill protection float and it freely moves. I have water pressure and no kink in the line. Worked fine for 1 1/2 years. Help!!!

My KUDP02FR won't pump in the water at start of a Normal or any cycle. It makes a low humm, then eventually goes to Heat Dry. In Dec I contacted FixYa about a loud noise....it was suggested that I replace the seal by installing the Impellar Kit. Then the noises stopped and the washer seemed to be working "normally", so I didn't do anything. Then last night this happened. This morning I tried different cycles....and nothing. No water pumps........and yes, the water is on. Is it the pump?

Couple of things that come to mind here... May be helpful or not - but after all this is free ifo and probably worth what you are paying!!!

Anyway:

1: Have you tried removing power from the appliance?? All these modern appliances use a microprocessor and - like MS WINDOWS - need a kick up the bum now and then - (Well.. with Windows it seems to be every day- hour -minute - or so)

2: Dishwashers are installed with water reduction valves, so there could be a problem with one of there (particularly the hot water side).

3: The water inlet is controlled by soleniod valves (read: electronic valves). If the valves are not opening, no water will enter the appliance, so there could be a problem with the valves.

Slow fill of water is due to the strainer clogging. Strainer is located on the body of the machine where the inlet water hose is connected.

Clean all the water flow tubes in the machine.Clean the solenoid valve opening also.

measure the voltage to the water fill valve. it should be about 120 volts in fill mode. if it is, then the inlet screen may be plugged. turn off water and disconnect pipe. examine and or clean screen. if screen is clean (some may not have one) and it has 120 volts applied to it then you need to replace the fill valve.

Dishwasher overflows when running and when not running still fills without draining

Check the water fill valve - sounds like it's stuck open. Turn the power to the machine off. If water continues to fill into the machine it's the water fill valve. If so...

Take the front lower cover off and look for the valve - it will have a water line going to it. This could also be caused by a bad control board, but look at the water valve first.

How to unclog KUDp02 dishwasher

Are you still having problems with your dishwasher? Please post if you are.
To get to the chopper area and to the area you really need to get to, remove the lower spray arm and then one screw the holds down the filter/sump assembly. Look closely for debris and remove.
Check all spray arm whole for blockage.
Rememeber to only use a brand name DW detergent powder (like Electrosol or Cascade), not a generic, ultra-cheap powder or any gel/tablet. You will be amazed how much better it the brand name powder works!
Golld Luck. Please update me with what you find. OK?

Is it filling with enough water. Look or if you don't know how much water is supposed to be there , Just add a gallon of hot water to the machine after it fills. If this solves the problem check the filter in the fill valve or replace the valve.
