You may have corroded battery input terminals in the remote control. Try using some electronic contact cleaner to clean the contacts. If that does not work try putting in a new set of batteries. If this does not work, you will need to get a new remote control.Having it repaired will cost as much as getting a new one. I hope this information helps you with you problem with the remote control. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day.
1 if this new ordere it is exacly the same that should work when i say exacly that must have only the same button on it
2 you should try to take off the cover to that old remonte and try to clean the taste and then the change battery clean suport to battery wash your rubber taste and put all togheder and should work if that not hapened the problem it is from inside tv
and to that new one see if you have a shift buttun on it and push that or push tv button and try again should work
hi does the controll have a button that says tv or vcr if so press the vcr button and try that if that dont solve the problem then make sure batterys are in right way and check the terminals are free from corrosion if this still dont work then the best thing to do is take the case off the remote and usually the problem is a build up of dust or grease on the board or on the back off buttons clean the board with dry cloth and clean the back of buttons remove any dust or grease from the board and buttons then put back together if this still dont work then you probably need new remote.
It will cost more than the remote to get repaired you can buy an all in one remote that will operate this for you let meknow how you get on ok
yes they do go bad. try cleaning the inside of the remote and check for a bad solder connection with-in the remote. the key pad can get dirty from your handling maybe a good cleaning but do not scrub it just lightly touch the pad with cue tip and alcohol
I have been seeing a lot of Toshiba remote "eyes" (the infra-red receiver inside the TV) fail recently. If several known good remotes cannot control the TV then the IR receiver will have to be replaced. If you have no experience soldering and unsoldering PC boards then have a qualified tech handle it for you.
