Error code on my lgWH2277HW washer

The error code with the incomplete E and E showes up. It almost completed a full cycle, spun some, then quit. I cleaned the pump filter and hose which were cloged, unpluged it and tried again. I started up OK, the tub spun, water started but then the error code came up. Thanks!

    I have already checked the manuel (DUH) and is gives no reason, just to unplug and call a service person.

  • mlgouter Nov 25, 2008

    Sorry but I don't have a pause cancel button to push. The error code is an E with the top horozontal bar missing and an E

  • mlgouter Nov 25, 2008

    The drain pump isn't cloged and the washer is clear of any soap.

  • mlgouter Nov 25, 2008

    Right now the machine is empty, all the water drained out, and the error code comes up immediately upon turning it on. no tub spin or water.

HI HERE IS THE CORRECT SOLUTION FOR YOUR ERROR CODE
Most washing machine timers are digital or mechanical. The timer controls most of the operations of the washer: water level, tub filling and emptying, length of cycles, and cycle setting sequences. For this reason, any repairs to the timer should be made by a professional service person. However, there are a couple of checks you can make when you suspect the timer is faulty -- you may be able to install a new timer yourself.

Step 1: Unplug the washer. To access the timer, remove the control knobs and the panel that covers the controls. This may be a front panel, or access may be through a panel at the back of the unit. Carefully examine the wires that connect the timer to the other parts of the washer. If the wires are loose or disconnected, try pushing them into position; they usually fit into their terminals like plugs. Use long-nosed pliers to avoid breaking the wire connections -- never pull a wire by hand.

Step 2: To test the timer, use a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Disconnect the power leads to the timer and clip one probe of the VOM to each lead. The VOM should read zero if the timer is working. Since the timer is a multiple switch, turn it through its cycle and test each pair of terminals in turn. The meter should read zero at all of these points. If one or more readings are above zero, the timer is faulty and should be replaced.

Step 3: To replace the timer, unscrew and disconnect the old one. Install a new timer made specifically for the washing machine. If there are many wires on the timer, have a helper hold the new timer next to the old one as you work. Disconnect the old wires one at a time, connecting each corresponding new wire as you work, to make sure the connections are properly made. Or, draw a diagram showing the connections before removing the old timer. After all the wires are connected, check the connections again for correctness and screw the timer assembly into place.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, may I ask is it an "F E" or an "L E"? Others have addressed the FE, may I address in the event that it is an LE.

  • LE would indicate an overload, specifically the motor had difficulty turning the tub/drum, possibly overloaded;
  • normal procedure would be to unplug, remove incoming water supply, drain the water and clean the filter.
A couple of suggestions:
  • even if your machine is rated to wash X weight, try to lighten it up;
  • try doing staggered wash, not one after the other to allow the motor to cool down;
  • verify that the water is not overfilling;
  • ensure that the back of the washer has sufficient ventilation space.
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    If the error code would not be removed by unplugging, then you may have to consider replacing the motor. If you would be performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), it may be to your advantage to keep in mind safe working practices when electrically powered devices are concerned, note down which wire goes to where and the general layout/arrangement of the other components that wold be removed to gain acces and dismantle the motor. Additionally, you may want to bring the motor in when purchasing the replacement part for verification and a bench test.

    Based on your last post, then it would be the motor.

The failure codes will appear in the display as an E followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, Final Spin and Control indicator lights will flash.
To stop the flashing and beeping, the customer may touch the Pause Cancel button. The error code remains stored in the control but once the problem is corrected, it does not effect the operation of the washer. If the failure is something that the customer can correct (such as the water faucets being turned off), the washer will operate normally the next time it is started.

If you had the E at start of the cycle, ckeck if the inlet valve is clogged.

    Check first that there are no control panel buttons pressed.

    Try unplugging the machine again to reset it, wait at least twenty minutes.

    If the machine stops shortly after pumping water inside, and the motor spins, check the inlet valve.

My cabrio washing machine want start

start with Activating the service diagnostic modes. You can start with the cycle selector knob at any position.

  1. Be sure the washer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off).
  2. Perform the following sequence of movement using the cycle selector knob. NOTE: After reset, sequence "a" through "e" must be completed within 6 seconds. When it tells you to rotate the cycle selector knob, it means 1 click, not a full turn. Once you have completed the cycle knob turns reset and "a" through "e", turn the cycle selector 1 click clockwise from the position it is already in. This is the fault code display mode. Then press the start button. Each time you turn the cycle selector knob 1 click clockwise after pressing start will show you an error code. Note: this washer stores 4 codes if any. The error codes on this washer are displayed in this format: F5 E3, F7 E1, etc. There is an error code chart in the image below.

If there are no error codes stored, I recommend that you start from the beginning (step 1 above) and then run the Automatic test mode. If this unit detects a problem, it will display the error at the end of this test.

Post the results back to me.

Washer will not start

I know how frustrating it can be when appliances do not function properly.

This particular washer has a test that we can run to see any errors. This can be confusing on this model.

Activating the service diagnostic modes.

The error codes on this washer are displayed in this format: F5 E3, F7 E1, etc...
If there are no error codes stored, you will need to replace the control board. Here is a link to the part.

I have an F11 code

Washer will suddenly stop with 1 minute left on cycle and shows the F11 error code...at times it may show the FdL code. The washer will then not finish no matter what I do. If I unplug the unit from the outlet that does not guarantee that when I plug it back in it will start up. Fifty percent of the time it still shows the F11 error. It can take hours to finally get the washer to cancel out so I can take the laundry out that has not been spun out.

The F11 error code indicates a serial communication problem between the central control board and the motor control board. This can be caused by:

  • A loose or failed wire harness connection between the central control board and the motor control board.
  • A bad wire harness connection between the motor control board and the drive motor.
  • A failed drive motor.
  • A defective motor control board.
  • A failure in the central control board.

The diagnosis of this failure usually requires a technician. If you are able to unplug the washer and safely access the central control board and motor control board, you can check for a loose wire harness connection.

LG Tromm washer wont spin through the spin cycle and reads error ue. I have tried to balance the load several times and still get the same error.

This error generally happens when people try to run a bulky load, like a coat, rug, pillow, etc., using a high speed spin. For these loads, choose the low speed spin. After the cycle completes, if you think the clothes are too wet, power up the machine again but instead of choosing a cycle, just push the spin speed button until it shows the next higher spin speed (usually about 14 minutes will show on the display) and push start. The machine will usually be able to get to a faster speed now, as the clothes have some of the water spun out of them from the earlier low speed spin, allowing the machine to reach a higher spin speed without the Unbalance Error code showing up. Of course, you want to make sure the machine is on a solid floor with all the legs adjusted properly also.

How do I fix my washer that only says 'sud' constantly and won't work at all? Whenever I try to start a cycle nothing happens. Whenever I push a button nothing happens. Please Help.

http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2948
Hi please go to this above link, it is all explained at length what is going on and what to do.

This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle.
If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window:
There are too many suds in the washing machine. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. See the animation below for more information.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.

Error code F05 denotes pressure switch jammed on full.
Remove the lower rear panel of washer.
Remove the large black hose on bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Refit and test.
Please rate my solution.
