I bought iPhone in Dubai. I have been using it in Sarajevo, Bosnia without any problems. I just replaced At&T card with SIM card from my local mobile operator. It worked prefectly for about 6 months. few weeks back i dropped it on concrete. IT did not break, did not even turned itself off! it was working like nothing happened. few laters later it started showing "No SIM card installed" window on the screen. i restarted the phone and it asked me to unlock the phone which i did, and it worked again. few hours later, it did the same thing. i repeated the process of restarting and it was working again. This was repeating about 5 or 6 times until, all of a sudden , stopped letting me unlocking the SIM card! it just shows "NO SIM CARD INSTALLED" window and OK button as only selection to push on the screen. I don't know what to do. is it hardware error since i have dropped it or it is needing some software apps to be uploaded? can anyone help me.

Same thing happened to me. This happens when the phone does not get reception. When that happens the phone goes into no service and says "sim card not installed". The solution is to take out the sim card from your iphone put it in another phone and make a phone call. Then take the sim card out and put it back in the iphone and make a call. At first you will see it will still say no service, but when it says calling you will see that after a while (6 or 7 seconds) the bars come up and it will display your carrier name.

I am getting a "No SIM card Installed" message -

Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.

Reset

To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a 10 seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

My nokia 2610b keeps asking me to enter PUK code what do i do

The PUK code is dependent on your sim card that you have installed. therefore if you have 'locked' your mobile you have in effect locked access to your sim card. you need to contact your sim card supplier.
if this helpful to u pls vote for me thanks
