Hi in this situation you should change the screen once it is crack, and if you still see the black part on the screen you can adjust the display using the hardware control management

if you place first check the key that fell off make sure the clip on the key is not broke or cracked.
then put the key back in the way it goes and press down on it it should snap back into place ok??

Hi there. Yes you can have the screen replaced and you can do it yourself, however i would recommend that you send it for repair as these Eee PC's are difficult to disassemble and you have to know what your doing.
If you have any of the manufacturers warranty left on the netbook take advantage of that and send it to Asus for repair.
I'm afraid you need to replace he LCD screen of your laptop. Replacing LCD screens is a bit complicated, that I suggest you send it to the Manufacturer's Service Center if it is still under warranty to avid voiding your units other warraty.
