I want to silence the ringer

Page 30 of manual at the link shown suggests a way to silence the Jitterbug.

To adjust the ringer volume:
1.
Be sure the phone is open and on.
2.
Press the
Up/Down
volume button
on the outside of the phone below the
display window. Press each time you want
to advance to the next choice.
These choices will appear on the screen:
- Ringer Volume Ring Max
- Ringer Volume High
- Ringer Volume Med
- Ringer Volume Low
- Ringer Volume Silent
3.
When you're satisfied with the setting,
release the volume button.
Your Jitterbug may ring and vibrate
to alert you to incoming calls. The
ringer and keypad can be silenced
by pressing the volume button
Down
until
"Silent"
appears on the screen. Your
Jitterbug will now only vibrate to alert you
to incoming calls (This can come in handy
at a movie, a library, or any other location
where a ringer may be a distraction.

While the phone is in standby model press DOWN.

You may download the manual in English or in French.

check wheather the phone is in silence mood and change the settings and then change ringer volume .

You can try to change ringer , or check you are not in silence working mode.

there r three modes. 1)ring mode. 2)vibration mode. 3)silence mode. so it would be on silence mode.just make it ring mode from silence mode. which can be done by going into settings then in to ringer and volume option.in that you can select. thanks.

Luckily for your housemates, there is a way for you to silence the keypad.

You'll need to go to your "Settings" Menu
Select Ring Styles, then go to ringer "detail"
If you scroll all the way down, you should be able to see "Key Volume".
Set that to "0".

Similarly, you can choose the "Silent" or "Vibrate" ringer option and that will temporarily silence your Keypad Tones.

here's what my instructions say about turning off the ringer:

Ringer high/low/off Shortcut

Apart from the setting in the main menu, there is a shortcut to set the ringer. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in talk mode).

1. Press the #RINGER/PAUSE button to go to the RINGER VOLUME menu. RINGER 1HIGH shows in the display. 1HIGH is the default.

2. Use the cid/vol (- or +) button or the touch-tone pad on the handset to scroll to 1HIGH, 2LOW, or 3OFF.

3. Press the #RINGER/PAUSE button to save your selection. You will hear a confirmation tone.
