Re: hp color laserjet printer gives 55.1 error
Follow these steps to ensure proper reinstallment.
Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the device directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn on the device. If the same error message occurs, reinstall the driver that came with your printer, or go to hewlett packards' website for the driver there. If you have done all of these steps and no help go to step number 3.
If the problem continues, contact HP Customer Support Center for technical assistance at http://www.hp.com/support/clj2600n or see the flyer that came in the printer box for additional contact information.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

1. Open and close the front door. 2. Ensure the cartridges are fully seated. 3. I couldn't find an error code of 55.50 in the service manual. All 55.xx errors are DC Controller problems. I did find the message "resend upgrade". That refers to a Firmware upgrade that didn't complete successfully. If that's what happened in your case...restart the upgrade and keep away from the printer until the upgrade finishes.

This is from the service manual and should help you
determine if you need to call in for service. If is in warranty I would
anyways since the fuser would be covered if at fault.
