Makes a sound like a computer loading the entire time....
Whenever I am playing, my 360 is constantly making a sound like when a computer is loading. I have also been getting some game freezes recently to the point that I have to turn the 360 off and restart it. I am wondering if there is a problem with my processor. Maybe someone can help me out because this just started maybe a week ago.

I know what you mean , some drives are LOUD .Try wraping it
with towels ,just kiding . I have recived alot of request to quite
these drives down , I am working on a sound insulator
that will wrap around the cd rom to knock 10-20db off
but i have to watch out for heat build up. Ill keep you posted.
I presume the unit works fine it's just loud, right?
The Xbox 360 does not like to be moved when playing a disk some of the mechanics may have misaligned or slightly out of sync this may be reason the DVD drive is making those sounds.
I strongly recommend you remove any visible dust from the 360 especially the sides and air vent holes using a vacuum cleaner. Once youve cleaned it place it horizontal (never on carpet) on a flat surface well ventilated away from other devices that generate a lot of heat.
As for the 'shredding sound', place in **** game into the 360 when it starts to make those sounds again gently tap the 360 on top (where the DVD drive is) until it stops making that sound. This doesnt always work but has for me and many others.
My experience tells me that dust can build up not only inside the 360 but also the drive itself which can lead disc read errors and the sounds and you mentioned.
Remember DUST and HEAT is the 360's biggest enemy and can cause RROD, 1 Red Light Problem, and disk errors.
It's not likely to be the fans. The DVD drive makes a loud whirring noise. If you have the NXE dashboard you can install games to the hard drive so the DVD doesn't have to get up to speed, which means the Xbox will be quieter and you'll have faster loading times.
It sounds like you need the dvd drive replaced. It could also be your motor or laser which needs replacement. We can offer you this service if interested email us for estimate. firstname.lastname@example.org
Depending on the age of the system, replace or ignore.
Its your DVD drive, unfortunatly most drives are noisy -FACT- so sometimes you have to just live with it- check the back ,if manfactured in 2005 ( a lot of bad drives from this year) might be worth ringing microsoft to see if an exchange is possible.-
But if its not showing any loss of play/loading or scratching the discs - or showing error- please place disc in a xbox 360 console...You may just have to put up with it.
no that's not good the motor is working over time you need it looked at quick or the moter will give up and then it will be a bigger job more money try thhttp://www.gamevania.com/XBOX_360/repair.phpis site first.
