Drlalitv, I really doubt a desktop keyboard has a fn key.

adrian, this is caused by the incorrect keyboard language setting. Just go into the control panel, click on regional and language options, then select the proper english language that corresponds to your keyboard....for instance if the @ is above the 2 on your keyboard, select the united states option.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

I am a slow typer in keyboard, what can i do to make my typing fast? And i want to learn more about the techniques how to type faster. thank you

Ok, here's the short version.
On the "F" key, there is a bump or a line which you can feel reaised above the key. There is also one on the "J" key. Your left index finger rests on the "F" key and your right index finger rests on the "J" key. the rest of your fingers rest on the keys leading out from those keys. Your fingers can use the keys the key they rest on and the keys above and below that position eg, left index finger operates keys "F, T&V" keys and so on. Try to train yourself to only use certain fingers for certain keys. After a whilw, it will become more natural and your speed will increase.
Also, Google "Touch-typing" for more tips and probably exorcises to help you.

Good luck.

OK! Lets troubleshoot this together.

First thing we want to do is verify that your keyboard & mouse and plugged into the correct places and are powered up and able to work.

Turn your computer on and look at your keyboard and tell me if any lights are on to show that it has power and is operational.

Watch the keyboard lights until the computer gets to the login page and tell me if the lights come on and stay on? Or do the lights turn on for a moment and then turn off again?

If you do not see any lights, please clarify if there are NO LIGHTS on your style of keyboard or if there are lights but they are not lighting up.

If your keyboard has lights and they are not lighting up at all, then turn off the computer and unplug the mouse and keyboard and swap them around. Then turn the computer on again and tell me if the lights come on and the mouse and keyboard become operational.

Once we verify this we can continue to the next step of troubleshooting. Please report what you find and I will help you solve this.

Flexion: Casio TE2400 cash register

Ok. We'll start with the extra buttons that you wanted. You need to go to the section which has the key codes. it should be just past the memory allocation pages. It will be called key allocation. You need to find the code number next to the two new buttons you wanted to add to the keyboard. When you have them,
Turn key to program 4 SUBTOTAL now type the 2 digit key code for the button you want now press a position on the keyboard to place the key there press SUBTOTAL. type the next code for the second button and press the position you want it in. press SUBTOTAL
Now you can go back to REG mode and you will have the two new keys on your keyboard. Make sure you change the label on the paper sheet under the keyboard.
Let me know when you have done it and we'll go to the next step.

It seems that the keyboard is not communicating correctly with Windows 7 or your operating system, maybe even with your Dell PC, remember that Dells, Compaq's and other major PC companies program their systems so that consumers will only purchase their factory products. First make sure that you have installed the correct drivers for that keyboard, also try swapping with a friends keyboard and see if the problem continues if it stops with a keyboard swap then the Microsoft keyboard is not compatible which seems rare but possible. Good luck.
