Internet not working modem okay and connected

Yes, you do not need a modem. You connect a LAN cable from the computer to the DSL modem to access your Internet Service Provider.

It could be your McAfee but have you checked to see on the browser file link to see if it says working off line, that could be your problem if so click work online.

this is fine most modems can take up to 5 aslong as you have space in your ethernet slots on your modem its fine i would say buy another one if you want a faster connection and link them if you would like if not its fine but the more connected to the modem the slow the internet will be if all working at the same time

Shut down your firewall. Hook your modem up directly to your computer. Hit the reset button on the modem and follow the instructions on the screen. You have reactivate the modem and verizon has there own program and it should start up automatically.

Make sure your Ethernet cable is working okay...or that your Enthernet port on your computer is working just fine. Also, depending on how old your router is, you might want to check its port just make sure all is good. You could do this by using a computer that has ports that you are certain are working, you could also change your cables just to make sure they arent the ones that arent working okay.
Alternatively, you might want to make sure that your Routers firmware is working okay, because to 'lie that a connection is not available when it really is' could require you to update the firmaware. BUT before you do that you might want to make sure that your computer really isnt the one with the issue. Sometime back microsoft release a connectivity fix WindowsXP-KB884020-x86-enu, or what ever relates to your OS, But please dont install it if your OS isnt the one with the issue...Godo Luck

Power off the network router and internet appliance ( DSL or Cable modem)...

Wait a few minutes, and power them back on... Then power up the laptop after about 3-5 minutes.

Could just be a lemon. Try a different modem in you can.

You most likely need to register the new modem with your Internet Service Provider.

possible its in your telephone wires, try check it with a liscensed technician of your telephone company.Maybe the wire threads are broken or even worn out.
