Laptop screen flickering

The video inverter may be failing, BUT...

More than likely the backlight is failing. If you can still see a VERY faint image on the screen this is almost certainly the problem. This is a very difficult fix. I recommend a replacement LCD.

It MIGHT be a bad lcd cable. With the laptop on, slowly open it from closed to open and back again and see if there is a position where the laptop screen does not flicker or turn off, [or if it does turn off if it turns back on.

If the screen goes COMPLETELY black then your GPU is failing.

Right click on the desktop, select properties.
Under display properties click on settings

Open Yahoo mail and click to open any mail in your in box.
A screen resolution error pops up and under it select 'return to a previous version of yahoo

Dell Keyboard Model: SK-8115 - Print Screen key does not work... when I press the Print Screen key nothing happens. Tried all combinations using Alt Ctrl... etc.

Pressing print screen itself does nothing noticeably. To capture your screen press ctrl + print screen or just print screen. Open up paint or a word document and paste it into it by pressing ctrl + v. An image of the previous screen capture should appear.

My screen has problem with its flex, the result is on and off screen even though the laptop is open..

disassemble the lpatop and chech how secure the screen cable is at both ends, if this doesn't work then I would change this cableas they have a habit of breaking due to being bent when opening and closing the screen.

My laptop screen is just a white screen when turned on

That is because the cable connecting the screen to the system board is damaged.
This can be easily fixed by either opening your system and fixing the cable, or just finding a perfect position for the screen where the cable works.

Screen was working fine until my daughter opened it up all the way flat to the back. Now it is just black all the time. If I shine a light close up to the screen, I can see what is on the screen and...

It is a backlight problem, it most likely was broken when the screen was opened flat...
Check on Ebay for a replacement screen, Average price about $125.00 for a 17 inch screen

The laptop open but i dont screen

If I understand correctly, you open your laptop and you end up with a blank screen. This could be because your sleep and especially hibernate is broken. See the fix here: http://annoyances-resolved.blogspot.com/2009/08/laptop-wont-resume-from-sleep.html
