The only fix i would think you could do it sent it back to the manufacturer, and have them fix it.

Broken GPS inside Glass


lcd's are fragile components and can be broken easy. if you drop the gps or have something fall on it, the force maybe enough to break the lcd.

the first place to look is ebay, look for a broken model, as is. if you are handy, you can replace it yourself.

Has this problem just devoloped, did it work before and it's now broken or have you just obtained this device or installed it into a new car.

your car might have athermic windscreen/heated windscreen. check the details of your car and see what UV protection your car has as often you will not get a signal through your windscreen if you have any special glass.

The solution to this would be an external antenna.

other wise how good are you at soldering. you might have a lose connection on the internal antenna. from all the bumping it does in your windows while driving it could have losened something inside.

Cracked glass


If you're handy with small tools, you can make a new screen using Lexan, a Dremel tool to shape it, and then glue it into place. You'll have to dismantle the unit first to get the broken screen out.

Either that, or send it in to Garmin for replacement.
