Sorry to say. But you need to understand the various reasons for 'No Display'

I will give a few suggestions for you try for solving the problem.

1. Is PC working with some other monitor? (Monitor problems and charge buildup in cable ends are very common)
2. Is the PC working when used with a new graphics card? (most of the problems are VGA card caused)
3. Is the RAM inserted properly into the slots? (PC board speaker will make some strange beep sound, when RAM is not recognized.)
4. Is the RAM you are using newly having the same bus speed? (Incompatible bus speeds will not let the PC boot)
5. If there is no beep sound and PC is not booting (no harddisk activity), try the seating of the BIOS chip in its slot.
6. Is the processor power line and FAN power line okay? (Some PCs won't boot in this condition)
7. Try the PC boot without any accesories (Not even the harddisk and any PCI cards)

I hope you could understand your problem better and is now able to come to a conclusion regarding the condition of your PC.

Have a nice day.

Can anyone explain why we are suspecting RAM as the problem? Does the PC appear to power on with original RAM, but shows no display? Are there any beeps? What about with no RAM installed? Have you removed all cards but the video, disconnect drives, etc. to see if there is any change?

Hello lupindu2006

If you did not change any switches or change any other thing, I would say that you have bent pins on your ram chips. Check to make sure you put the chips the the correct place. Check to make sure you have not changed the memory number on the new chips.

If you have bent pins try and bend the pins back to their correct position. Make sure you did not damage you mother broad when you were taking the pens out.

Make sure touch the frame of your computer to make sure you do not have any static electricity you fingers.

3 beeps and fan will not stop running. Will not boot up

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.
make sure that your RAM is securely seated
test or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive make sure the connections are secure including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA the ones that attach from your
((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

This isssue was System RAM, to resolve this follow the below steps,

1. open your CPU cabinet, and remove the RAM and wipe the insert portion in the slot and replace again in to same or other slot and power on the PC.

2. it should work fine, if the issue remains same replace a new RAM.

3. to confirm the ram problem, remove the RAM from the slot and power on your PC, you will here a continuous beep.

Installed new ram in my Toshiba Laptop... verified the type of ram needed. Now it won't boot up. I removed new ram... still will not boot... pls help.

If the unit still doesn't come on with the old ram (assuming the old ram worked and the machine booted before) you might have zapped the MB accidentally while installing the new RAM, did you gound your self, take precautions to remain "static free"...? Doesn't take much with today's sensitive instruments to zap a component or two.
Try running an eraser (No 2 pencil) over the contact side of the new ram chips.. this should alleviate any excess static in the slot and then cross your fingers.
If it wasnt a laptop i would say get a new MB (motherboard) and swap it out to see if it worked but with a laptop that is no easy task (getting the replacement MB, or installing it).
Good Luck

No beep, no display, tested power supply and comp. monitor, tested RAM and graphics- no probs.. new proccesor and motherboard still nothing...

Causes for no display are :
1. SMPS : Most likely, replace
2. RAM : Most likely, replace
3. Motherboard : likely if it is old
4. Processor : unlikely if it is Intel
5. Graphics Card : Try on board graphics
