At random times, when a user prints, a document, pdf, picture ect.., it's slanted. It also happens when a user scans to themselves. What can cause this to happen?

There mite be something in the path of the paper which the paper hits and so it is slanted have you tried scanning on the big glass instead of thru the document feeder does it happen then? Now the printing is something else are you talking about copying or printing. If print I would check the paper draws ensure the guide are snug up against the paper. Do you internal prints slant such as the meter count print out or the fax info reports. or the demo page? If the problem is coping then place the original on the big glass and see if the slant There are small mylar guides though out the document feeder if some one pulled the original document out in the wrong direction they mite have flipped on of them causing a corner of the paper to hit one slanting the original ALWAYS pull the original out in the same direction as the flow of the document. Try sticking a business card down thru the way the paper flows you mite be able to reset the offending mylar.

I have never used the scanner portion, I have always just used the printer..but now I need the scanner for my job. How do I use the scanner? How do I access it? Help please.

your scanner bed is the same one for photo copies.

insert medium to be scanned in the same way you would place somthing in for copy.

then on your pc you should be able to use the scan funtion it should show up as a device or be in the functions list for your printer.
once you see it you can define where the finised scans should be stored, e.g. my pictures etc.
and in which format and size. usually you can have a preview of the scan and view it to see that the image is in the correct place etc.

I hope this was useful.

Canon Pixma iP 6600D printing problem.. went to print a scanned document .... paper began to feed in askew from autopaper feeder . Printing process stopped. the process was repeated a couple more times...

To fix the paper feed problem, Clean / rub each roller with a damp cloth with a dab of detergent.
Check for paper residue , especially near the paper empty flag,
Then reset the printer:
First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0?. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

How to find the PIN number to scan for a Lexmark X4650

Hello,
Unless you have setup a PIN for scanning when you installed the printer the default PIN is 0000. If you setup a pin and don't remember, go to the Lexmark Productivity Studio, click on setup and diagnose printer, then on left side select Advanced, another screen will pop up click on Networking and another screen will appaer at the bottom there is a link that reads Change your PC name and PIN for network scanning, click there and you should be able to see and/or change the PIN.
Good Luck and don't forget to rate this answer.

ADF won't draw document to be scanned into the scanner

The first thing I always do to a misbehaving ADF is take a dust blaster(canned air) and blow all of the dust and debris out of the ADF,This means lifting the ADF cover and cleaning everywhere. There is always a switch or sensor whose job it is to detect a sheet of paper placed in the ADF.Good Luck.

Scanning problem with A940 AIO Dell printer/scanner

Hi there, just found this solution to work perfectly. i just freaked out for a moment with the same problem. Use this or just type fax and scan in your help function. Hope this helps!

Before you begin, make sure that you've installed your scanner on the computer and that the scanner is turned on.
  1. Windows Photo Gallery.
  2. Click File, and then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
  3. In the Import Pictures and Videos window, click the scanner that you want to use, and then click Import.
  4. In the New Scan dialog box, click the Profile list, and then click Photo. The default settings for scanning a picture are automatically displayed.
  5. If you're using a scanner with a document feeder, click the Paper size list, and then click the size of the picture that you've placed on the scanner or click the size that most closely matches the picture.
  6. Click the Color format list, and then click the color format that you want the scanned file to display.
  7. Click the File type list, and then click the file type that you want to use to save the scanned file.
  8. Click the Resolution (DPI) list, and then click the resolution, in dots per inch, that you want to use.
  9. Adjust the brightness and contrast settings or type the values that you want to use.
  10. To see how the picture will appear when it is scanned, click Preview. If needed, modify the scan settings, and then preview the picture again. Repeat these steps until you're satisfied with the preview results. Some scanners might require you to place the picture in the document feeder each time that you scan.
  11. Click Scan. When the scan is complete, Windows Photo Gallery prompts you to tag the picture so that it's easier to organize or find later.
  12. In the Tag these pictures (optional) list, type a tag name, and then click Import. Windows Photo Gallery displays the picture so you can view, fix, or organize it.
