Printer Driver and Manual for a Canon MultiPass C3000

My operating systmen is Windows ME. I can't find the driver for the printer. Also, I know I got a printer manual for this device from the Canon website about 4 months ago, but I lost the link to it and canon.com doesn't list it. I don't have the software for the drivers. I bought it used, cleaned it up and have been using it for copying and it works great! Now that I have a PC, I'd really like to use its full potential. Thanks

"Sandrew" Thank You for you assistance with trying to find a printer driver for my Cannon Multipass C3000. I haven't arrived at a solution yet, but I DO have the driver now, plus the manual which requires Adobe to read, which I also downloaded. Looks like I have some reading to do. The Installation wizard is looking for a .inf file which this .exe and the manual file does not have. I don't mind the hassle or the time I'm taking to get to the resolution. Eventually I hope to have this printer/copier and fax combo doing all three. I bought it for $5.00 U.S. at a thrift store, then cleaned some of the rollers, bought a cartridge and watched as copies started to come out better and better. It had a continuous thin black line running vertically down each page, but that seems to have cleared itself up on its own. I will let you know the eventual outcome. Regardless though, I still have an excellent copier that I use all the time, at less than a fire sale price. Plus a fax. God Save The Queen

    SSSANDREW:

We're making progress!!! Not quite all the way "there" but tantalizingly close. I've got the Mulitpass Desktop Manager running in the "background" now when I start up Your instructions were right on target. So, the driver is loaded and ready for an "experience" with the printer, but this is what I get:

The Multipass hardware could not be initialized.
the connected device may not be the same as the Multipass device that was installed.....

I've changed out the parallel cable to the printer, turned the printer off then on, printed out the USER'S DATA LIST which, to me doesn't have any relevant data (but surprisingly does have the correct date and time - must have a good battery), created a directory with subdirectory, printed to file in additon to printer and now have a maternity ward of 5 more baby MultiPass icons in my printer directory. Thankfully, the check mark identifies the father. I also have the manual now which I can download with Adobe, but like most real users, they make good door stops if they're hardcopied, because we're functionally illegitimate when it comes to instructions in thick volumes.

The desk top manager is for an older version of Windows, of course, and for older software, because I don't have an "export" option in Word. I remember those though. Especially in Lotus 1-2-3. The help file in Word for Export isn't what's needed.

I've got a thrift store rug and am wondering if it would be appropriate to use as a prayer mat?
Which way is Mecca from 12th & I Street in Sacramento?

I'm not sure if you got my last transmit so here goes. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't with the Multipass setup installation, but port assignment, but I ain't that smart:

Don't use the wizard, disconnect printer, run the .exe driver installation and then re-connect printer when prompted or after installation has finished.

I changed catridge but still says "change cartridge".

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
