Drum error : slide the green tab on drum unit in each colour?

I have a Brother HL-4050CDN printer wich gives me the error message mentioned on top, could you please help

You forgot to slide the tab, unless you do this you cannot use your printer im afraid, drum unit is a cylindrical part unit, unless otherewise you correct this instlltion procedure there is no othere way around it

Try removing all the toner carts and remove the drum unit from the printer. Using the upholstery tool on your home vacuum cleaner, clean all over the drum unit being careful not to directly touch the drum surfaces (they scratch very easily causing permanent marks to print) also vacuum out the inside of the printer. It is likely that dust is preventing correct charge build on the drum. Also make sure the green slide tabs are placed back at the home position at the side of the drum unit. Re-assemble and test.

My printer has an error, slide the blue tab on the drum unit. which is the drum unit?

The Drum Unit is the big tray that all the cartridges sit in. Each colour has a slider for cleaning. Take out the toner unit that is having a problem. Look in the cavity the toner cartridge sits in. There will be a plasticcover over the slider. Lift the plastic cover and slide the blue tab all the way to the other side then back to where it was sitting before. Close the cover and re-insert the cartridge.

If it does not specify a colour then do them all.

The green tab referred to on the drum unit slides a thin wire across the drum to scrape off any built-up toner that has accumulated.

To do this, first open the door to access the toner/drum cartridges (it's the same door you'd open to replace a spent cartridge). Remove one of the cartridges; the inside of the door will have a sticker illustrating the exact steps to do this. Once you've removed a cartridge, look to the end that is inserted first when installing it (the end opposite the one grasped to remove the cartridge). You should see a small green tab here. Slide it left and right several times to clear away any blockage. For good measure, vigorously shake the cartridge side to side to evenly redistribute the remaining toner evenly inside the cartridge. Replace the cartridge and repeat these steps for each one remaining.

If you still get an error after following these steps, remove each cartridge and shake it extra vigorously for at least 10 seconds. Sometimes the toner can clump inside the cartridge, causing the printer to interpret it as a blockage. This is especially likely to occur if you live in an area with a humid environment.

How do I access and change out the toner cartridge? (brother HL-2140 printer)

1 Turn your Brother HL-2140 laser printer on.
2 Open the front cover by pulling the top latch toward you.
3 Pull the printer drum unit toward you. Put it on the clean, blank sheet of paper.
4 Push the green lever on the drum assembly down.
5 Remove the empty toner cartridge from the drum unit.
6 Shake your replacement toner cartridge gently to evenly distribute the toner inside.
7 Put the new toner into the drum unit and slide the unit back into your Brother HL-2140 printer. Close the top cover.

Brother HL 4050 CDN suddenly got DRUM ERROR, and there're message slide green tab on the drum unit in

The green tab slides from left to right.
This cleans the croner wire. These wire also have a tedancy to break every often.
The drum unit will need to be replaced

Newly set-up Brother color laser printer displays drum error.

The slides you are moving are for the drum units, you could try using canned air to blow in the same area that the sliders slide across, if that doesn't help you may need a new drum unit..

Brother 4070 CDW Drum Unit Error

The green tabs that you have to slide are under the color cartridges, so remove the three color cartridges and you will see three green tabs, to slide the tab across the wire you have to first open the translucent plastic wire cover, then slide the green tab across the wires and return it to it's original position, close the wire covers, replace the color cartridges, and reassemble the printer. All the Best
