Try clearing the CMOS first. The CMOS clear jumper is near the Battery. If you can tell the model number of your motherboard then I will be able to guide you further

It sounds like a bad Motherboard to me. MSI is a very reputable company but no company is perfect.
I would return it and either get another one or get your money back.
Personally, I would get a different model in the MSI line....

How to install bios

the bios is already on the board,
when you are booting the computer you have to push down on the F10, if that doesnt work than try F1 and thanF2, every time you try to enter the motherboard bios you have to start from a cold boot.
website for motherboard bios configuration and settings is at
http://www.msicomputer.com

if you want a copy of the bios setup and configurations and everything explained in detail go to your browser and type the following information.

MS-6758-040 BIOS MANUAL OR
MSI MS-6758-040 BIOS MANAUL

the bois controls everything the that runs you computer, video, ram, HD, CPU, PORT FUNCTIONS, BOOT SEQUENCE, SMART FAN CONFIGURATION, HD CONFIGURATION, TEMP. SETTINGS, AND ALOT MORE STUFF AND VERY LONG LIST.

MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS MIN. 3VOLTS

I connected it all correctly to my cooler master elite 310 and it doesnt work. it turned on but no display is shown. not even bios. I plugged it into the vga onboard adapter and have trived multiple types...

- Re-seat the CMOS battery first by removing the nickel coin like battery of the motherboard - try installing RAM one at a time - check for beep codes in your motherboard - If no beep codes motherboard is faulty.

Msi pm8m3-vh motherboard need to reset bios as comp will not start up

On almost every motherboard, there is a small jumper setting (3 prongs) with a *small yellow* jumper connecting two of the prongs. It is generally near the "chipset" heatsink, nearby the ATA/SATA cable connectors for the Hard Drive(s). Yours may be near the "bottom" of the RAM slots.

If you turn off the computer, turn off the power, unplug the computer, and move the small yellow (sometimes white, but almost always yellow) switch from the two jumpers it's on to connect the middle to the opposite one.

If the jumper is on the left two, move it to the right two. This will include the middle jumper prong.

Leave it that way for 15-30 seconds, and you should reset your BIOS settings.

If that doesnt work, unplug everything and pull the small, quarter sized battery out of the motherboard (directly next to the ATA connectors. (It looks like a large watch battery. You will need a tweezer or small plastic wedge of some sort to move the battery holder out of the way to get it out. It's easier than it sounds, trust me.

If neither of those work...I'd suggest a new motherboard, because both of those methods are supposed to reset the BIOS. Hope it helps!

The video card is not compatable. Also check your ram first to make sure it is plugged in all the way, and the rest of your hardware.
