Light does not work on GE microwave in the GE oven/microwave combo

The light does not work in the microwave of a built in GE oven/microwave combo, model JKP68GOKBG. I replaced the bulb but still no light. The microwave works fine. I got the circuit diagram from GE and it shows a light relay. Is it the next thing to troubleshoot? How do I do that? Other ideas? Is it possible the door switch (which opens the light) is bad? Note that microwave works with door closed as usual, only problem is it is dark inside!

Thanks for your help.

You will have to remove the unit, to access the back and pull the covers, most likely you coil is burned out. Or a safety fuse to the coil is tripped last but not least, your control card is burned out. Might want to give make and model

Eecrolux combination wall oven / microwave is in demo mode model# ew30mc65jb

Good Morning Rolf, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have provided your Electrolux wall oven/microwave combination is stuck in demo mode. The best way to remove demo mode from your wall oven/microwave combo is to hold the oven light button and the on/off keys at the same time and you should be able to toggle in and out of demo mode. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

There is a very good chance that it has blown a fuse. They would be located behind the control panel. Be careful around the wiring to the high voltage circuit and make sure that the power is shut off.

Jenn-air microwave light bulb

This is an older (Mfgr. May, 1987) microwave oven. Functions perfectly, works an looks good to this day, just no light inside. I searched a couple of websites looking for parts for this unit and appliancepartspros.com provided schematics of the product that I own. From those drawings, it was determined that the microwave oven will have to be slid out of the cabinet above the built-in oven in order to change a $2.37, 40W light bulb. Just a handfull of scrws retaining the oven and exhaust baffles and I'll get it out (onmce the New Year's Eve hangover disappears). The engineer who designed a system like this must have been on an Acid Trip. I haven't looked closely at newer microwave ovens, but I'd have to believe changing a crummy light bulb would have to be made easier than this during the preliminary engineering phase of design.
