THERE SHOULD BE A SCREEN OR FILTER between your water inlet & the solinoid(this is what lets water into your unit)if you have no filter then its safe to say the valve is done(has trash in it)& will need to be replaced.thanx for using fix-ya

There is a sediment filter (screen) in the line inlet on the back of your machine. Turn the water off, disconnect the line and remove the screen. You can usually rinse them out with running water and reinstall. You might want to install a inline filter on your main line inlet. This will prevent sediment from entering anywhere and you will extend the life of your water heater.

Why does my dishwasher stop during cycles and the cycle light blinks?

it has few functions , so break them down to this.
does water flow in correctly . hot an cold
does the pump re-cycle water well inside . reflow lots of spray.
then does it pump out correctly an flow easily into garbage disposal , check the back flow valve for stoppage if it has one {its in the large plastic pipe right before the disposal.lets water flow but compactor garbage is blocked, it sticks a lot closed }
and is the door latch secure test it by opening suddenly is all you can do.
you might have to open the door quickly to check these items like spray or pumping.

Can you check the exhaust water hose by looking straight down the drain in the sink where a dishwasher exhaust hose is normally attached, to see if you have any water leaving the dishwasher at all? Can you remove the exhaust hose, and put in a pan to see if you can get some water to flow out? I am guessing you may have a clogged exhaust hose, or clogged sink attachment on the sink drain. After lot of use, debrea will build up in the exhaust hose. You might also consider cleaning the inlet valve filter, the collect sand from the water supply, and can clog after many year of service.

Water comes into dishwasher cold. why???

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Have you insured the unit is connected to a hot water supply line ? The water will not heat until it start's to circulate and activates the "flow switch" in the Bosch dishwashers.

If it is connected to a hot water supply, try running the hot water at your sink taps before turning on the dishwasher. If you still do not have hot water, check your hot water heater or supply.

If it is indeed connected to a cold water supply it will work, just be prepared for very long wash cycles since the Bosch machines will heat the water at a rate of 2F per minute...it could take a long time to reach 155F.

Let me know what you find out and I'll try to assist you in any manner I can going forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Couldnt find if this needs hot or cold water supply. Steve

The unit should be hooked up to the hot side of the supply. A lot of dishwashers have heaters, but using hot water saves them the time to heat the water to the prescribed temperature, around 140 degrees. The following website discusses this:

Need install guide for bosch dishwasher model smu 2042 uc Need to know if it suppose to hook up to cold or hot water?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

The dishwasher must be connected to an adequate hot water supply.

Adequate meaning a good strong rate of flow and pressure of hot water.

That should answer your question. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Good luck.

After the final rinse there are still food particles or even small pieces what appears to be like sand on the dishes.

By far, especially on water/energy conserving dishwashers like the LDS5811, the most common reason for poor cleaning on a dishwasher that has been working well is the household has switch detergents from a name brand to an ultra cheap powder. Usually, switching back to high quality powder (e.g. Electrosol) your problems go away.
If that does not fix the problem after two loads, do this: Start the empty DW (with no detergent added) and open the door after the hot water has begun flowing in. Open the door and add up to two cups of white vinegar. You can use the quick cycle.
Use the dishwasher normally.
If problems continue, open the jetdry compartment and dial it down to a lower number.
Get back to me with what works best for you. There are more draconian solutions if these fail you.
Good Luck!

Hotpoint aquarius dwf30 dishwasher

you can plumb into hot but there are some snags
first hot water pressure is often a lot lower than cold so the machine may take a long time to fill
second if the water is too hot it will destroy the resin of the water softener and you will see brown marks on the crockery.
third it a bit uneconomical as you will use a lot of hot water

Inlet/ outlet light on

Check under the sink Miele puts a water flow sensor meter inline with your hot water line to sense the flow and rate to the proper level there is a small catch screen on the inlet side of it. turn off your water to the dishwasher and open the line up and check that screen That would be the first step.

Dishwash cycle takes too long.

I am a recently retired appliance engineer of 20 years no that won't help, dishwashers only use one pipe cold water, check fill pipe for kink or low water flow rate filling up,if no problems then check heater element for open circuit, then check for any blockage with water outlet / filters and pump etc well somewhere to start to be going on with, if any of above helped rate me please,
