The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers. The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval (this time may differ between models). There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher. This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence. Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot.

Try turning the power off too the unit for five minutes and back on, because if the lid was open some or was stuck it can stop the unit from running.

Blinking "Normal" light on a Maytag model

Hi

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel.
Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. If the light is still blinking try and reset the power to the dishwasher and try again. If still the light is blinking then check for the connections on the keypad, it may be due to moisture or shorted connections on keypad.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

On-Off light on my HP J4680 Officejet All-In-One printer will not stop blinking and says "Turn power off and then on." I do that and keeps repeating the same message.

Hello.

Some suggestions from HP:

Turn off the printer, then unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall. Wait about 5 minutes and plug it back in and turn on the printer.

Reset the printer by turning it off, hold the # and 6 keys while turning back on.

If this does not work, do a hard reset - same thing except # and 9 keys.

If this does not work, the printer needs to be serviced or replaced.

Hope this helps.

Kitchenaid kud101tj "cancel drain" light and "Rinse Only" lights are falhing and DW won't start???

Don't know if this will help, but when I had problems with my control panel (lights blinked and nothing worked) I fixed it by disconnecting the power completly from the dishwasher at the fuse box. Leave it off 10 or 15 minutes and then repower. That reset mine and it worked again...has happened several times and each time I could fix it by cutting the power. If that doesn't work, you may need a new control panel.

The clean light is flashing seven times on our kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDS01DL and it wont wash the dishes

The blinking clean light is an interruption in the dishwasher program that either indicates a component malfunction, or it can be a simple glitch. The following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575752-dishwasher_blinking_clean_light

Now, keep in mind all dishwashers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Just remove the screws that hold the panel in place and remove.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

Blinking 7 times is usually a thermister related problem. However, I have often found this to be a momentary glitch in operation. If the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of WHICH circuit is causing your problem. As all dishwashers differ in operation and features, refer to your tech sheet for the recommended troubleshooting steps.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you solve your problem.

NOTE: Some dishwashers use the Sani-Rinse/Air Dry combination, some use the Sani-Rinse/Heated Dry combination. Some use a sequence of three, others use a sequence of 5 pushes of the buttons. If the tech sheet is not located behind the lower toe panel, or affixed somewhere under the dishwasher, I have also found them located inside the inner door panel. Let me know if you still need assistance.
