Question about Optoma H30 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Picture is green with some purple shades

I have an optoma h78DC3, have just replaced the blub and cleaned the filter. I read you can shoot some air thru it to blow it out some but so far still get the same results. I have it ceiling mounted and inverted. I live in Roswell Georgia. Is there a repair store nearby that can fix this. Are there other things i can try to do to fix the color has worked great up to now. I have seen some info regarding a color wheel but i do not know what that is ........the manuels dont show any maintenace or real instruciton other than some user adjustments and installation type stuff

Help I want to watch on the big screen

we  are  having  a  NEC  LCD projector. When  efforts  were  made  to clean  the  lense by menu adjustments the  picture  gets  inverted.
Please  inform  the  method  of  resetting  the  LCD  projector  to normal condition

I don't know if this will work but..... I have an Optoma h27 and we were having problems with the color and ours is mounted on the ceiling in inverted also; and after two years we started having color problems, come to find out that on the menu there is a option for high altitude and that had been turned to the "off" position (probably by our kids resetting all the options and not turning this one back on)..... after taking it to a tech that cleaned it for $97.00 and said there was no problems he could find, we played around with the remote/menu and came across this high altitude option and when we saw it was on the "off" position, we put it to the "on" position and another fan inside the projector came on and that helps to keep the inside of the projector cool at all time and helps from the color becoming weird..... Try this on yours and hopefully that will solve your problem.

Possible filter problem since its overheating. clean up filters and make sure that you use projector in an open area so air can cool it off while running.

Hope this helps

Green power light flashes

Is it time for a lamp replacement? perhaps a cleaning of the air filter? check these two before looking into a service for it.

Screan turned a shade of purple

I believe you have lost the green channel leaving only the red and blue. It could be an internal connection like a solder joint or connector, or it could be component failure from the CRT to an adjustment pot. Being the set is ten years old it wouldn't be worth spending a lot of money on it. You can buy a 27 inch TV now for almost what a repair would cost. If the picture was very good before this probem you may try to get it fixed cheap. Otherwise it probably wouldn't be worth it.
My 27 inch TV's (A Sony and a Sharp) are pretty old and I would fix them myself if the picture tube was very good.
This may be a very good time to buy considering the discounts being offered. ;-)).
