Did you check that the brightness control is turned up?

The main power inverter, or the LCD interface driver circuit area on the monther board may have a fault.

I don't know the details for your laptop. You should consult the user manual about how to control the brightness of your screen. With my laptop I press Fn + (arrow left) or (arrow right) to control the brightness.

I have seen various hardware failures cause brightness problems.

Most probably you have a defective LCD screen cable. This is the only possibility left since you have changed the LCD screen & inverter, & an external monitor works fine. Check your LCD screen cable & replace it if necessary.

Diagnosis:
1. Test using an external monitor. If it works, then either the screen bulb or the inverter board might be defective.
2. Test the inverter. Easiest way to do it if you have a good screen with a good bulb. Connect the good screen to the inverter board & test it. If it lights up, then the inverter board is good. If it did not, then the inverter board is bad & needs to be replaced.
3. If the inverter board is good, then we are left with the possibility that the screen bulb is bad. To fix this, we will need to replace the LCD screen.

My computer screen is black but power is on. What should i do?

This might be a sign of a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

Test with an external monitor attached to the laptop. If you get display on the external monitor, then this confirms the case.

If an external monitor works fine then maybe you're having issues with the LCD's backlight. It happened to my laptop and I had to replace the whole LCD itself.

Hi:
If you have tested your screen, then the problem is most likely the LCD inverter assembly. It is usually mounted near the bottom of the LCD, is a tiny circuit board, approx 1/2" wide by 4" long. it is what powers up the backlight on the LCD, and they don;'t cost too much, maybe $15...Hope this fixes it!

My brightness control does not work just turned on and can not hardly see anything it is up and running what now

Have you tested it with an external monitor?

I would say you either have a damaged inverter board or screen baclight lamp. Usually the inverter board fails in one of the following ways:

1. When you turn on the laptop, the screen lights up for a short period of time and then goes dark. You still can see an image but it is very dark, almost invisible and definitely not usable. When you restart the laptop, the screen lights up and then goes dark again. The laptop works fine with an external monitor.
2. Your laptop turns on but the screen remains dark all the time. You still can see a very dim image outline. The laptop works fine with an external monitor.
3. The laptop screen works fine for hours or even days, but sometimes it goes very dark as it mentioned above. When you restart the laptop, the screen works fine again.

Inverter failure symptoms are very similar to backlight lamp failure symptoms and in most cases you cannot tell which one is causing the problem until you replace either the inverter board or the backlight lamp. From my personal experience, inverter boards fail more often than backlight lamps. If you have to guess, replace the inverter first.

Flicker

Hi,
if you have screen Flicker, this could be several Things. Faulty or Failing Inverter Board, Or tft screen tube failing ( usually determined by occasional Pink Screen At Startup ) try to use an external Monitor. if it,s fine on an external. this will eliminate motherboard or graphics chip fault.

Acer Aspire 6530G black screen

Hi,
There's no point getting a crisis program if you cannot see the screen in the first place.
The problem could be anything from a faulty graphics, faulty motherboard or loose cable or inverter board.
To test this connect an external monitor to the laptop and use the keyboard toggle to switch screens (hold down Fn and press the F key that has a monitor icon on it)
If the external monitor has a display on it then the problem is the inverter, inverter cable or the screen itself which if faulty.
If there is no display on the external monitor you maybe looking at a new laptop.
If you have no external monitor to test then look very close at the laptop screen, if you can just make out an image then its the inverter.
Post back if you require any more assistance.

Regards.
