Short from pedal to battery

I charged our gator for the full amount of time and it worked for a few minutes but then it just stopped. There is no connection from the pedal to the battery. When I take the battery out and put in another power wheels it worked just fine. Is this a fixable problem?

Our battery is fully charged and works with other battery powered ride-on toys, however there must be a short from the pedal to the battery??? Can someone fix this?

Have you tried to take apart the switch under the foot pedal. Has it ever been stored outside?

I would replace the foot pedal switch like the one here http://www.shopjandl.com/mepu0001.html
if it goes in any speed then it is a problem with the switches in the shifter.
You also want to make sure the wires are secure on the foot switch and the motors because the can come loose when the children are riding them.
I would also contact J&L http://www.shopjandl.com/.
These guys know a lot about these peg perego gators and will make sure they help you.

Bought new battery for the john deere gator ride on toy but only runs for a short time then battery needs recharging

Hi, How long does it run? Typically you should get at least 45 min of run time out a fully charged battery. If it's slowing gradually and dying in just a few minutes its the battery. If it's goign full speed and then stopping suddenly, it's probably the thermal breaker located in the shift mechanism.

I have a nextbook 7 or 8 tablet. it no longer charges in any way, and it gets extremely warm when connected to a charger no mattet how short a time it is plugged in for.

Lithium ION batteries are usually rechargeable. The use mode for these batteries is that there are a set number of recharges that equate to the life of the battery. Usually that life is approximately 1,000 charges.
If you use your battery to 50% then recharge, you can do this ~2,000 times. As the life of the battery is used up, the maximum charge lessens which means where you may have had 8 hours of play time when the battery was new, you will only have 6 hours as the battery life is used up.
In order for a Lithium ION battery to recharge there must be at least a small amount of charge left as a "seed" for that recharge. If you drain a L-ION battery down to zero, it may never recharge again or the max charge will be reduced to an insignificant amount of the original full charge. eg instead of 8 hours you may only get 15 minutes, or 5 minutes, or no minutes.
You are much better off recharging when 50% depleted than using it up til your product stops.
L-ION batteries cannot be repaired only replaced. Most cheap products using L-ION batteries cannot have their batteries replaced.

Why wont my dirt devil gator 18v charge?

Hello! If you are experiencing a short run time your battery may need to be reset. Try completely depleting the battery. Run the vacuum until it shuts off. Then re-charge for a full 24 hours. The indicator light will come on to indicate the unit is charging. If there is no indicator light on the charger, the charger may need to be replaced. Below is a link where you may go to purchase the charger if needed. Hope this helps!

I recently recharged the battery after several months of inactivity and when the pedal is pressed the gator worked for bout 30 seconds and now doesnt work at all.... is it the pedal

unfortunatly probably the battery is toast if it was it stored outside in freezing temps? does it work after charging again for 30 secs? if so its probably the thermal breaker under the shifter, replace it with a 30 amp fuse. charge the battery and test it with a cheap volt meter form harbor freight (under $5). its probably not the pedal, but you try that, the switch under it is very cheap to replace.

I bought a gator last christmas 4 my son and only charged battery 6 times fully but now it will not work

most likely it is the shifter switch. Just to check you can exchange the red and blue wires under the pedal(just for a second or so, do not do this permanently) to see if you get power to the wheels, if so then yes it is Definitely only the shifter, but I am still pretty sure it is just the shifter. you can also call Peg Perego Tech support which is excellent and they can help you too 1800-728-2108 and parts can be priced and found at www.mypegperegoparts.com the battery charger should have a led light that will glow green at full charge, and yellow if not charged all of the way.

We just bought a new battery three weeks ago for the Peg Gator. It worked perfect up until now. It is going very slow and acting like the battery didn't charge Any suggestions? Could it be the battery...

this is a very common problem with these types of ride on toys, you have to make sure theres not to much weight in it or it will drain the battery almost right away, also the charger itself maynot be charging it fully . Try charging it fully, put the amount of weight you normally have in it and when it starts to slow down take out the child or children and reach in and push the gas pedal to see if it made a difference.
